Okay, here's the scoop...

We're booked in 1 BR at Boulder Ridge in November.

I'm waitlisted for the 2 BR at Copper Creek because my parents were going to come.

Now they are saying don't count us in because my dad might be working and if they can come they will just stay offsite.

This would be fine except... we're moving to FL (yeah!) and I know that if my dad can't come my mom is going to want to come at the last minute but there won't be room if I don't keep the waitlist.

I know there is no guarantee that the waitlist will come through. It's a 44 point difference between the two reservations. If we happen to get a lock off we could drop the studio part if they don't come.

Sometimes having to plan so early is hard. Should I listen to her and just drop the waitlist or would you hold onto it and just deal later (even if that means "losing" 44 points)?

My kids are 7 and I guess they could always sleep in the other bedroom but I'm not sure that they would want to (plus I don't want them getting used to it - lol)!

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

Ask her where she's planning on staying if your dad can't come and see what she says.

Dvc may or may not let you drop the studio from a 2 bedroom lock-off. I have heard of a couple instances where they allowed the modification, and a whole lot more of them saying no to the request. I would not count on being allowed this request.

Can you not waitlist a 1 bedroom at BLT or kidani village so you would have the extra bathroom and sleeping space if your mom did decide to join you? It would still be a 1 bedroom so the kids would not be spoiled, but would give you enough space to accommodate your mom.

I spoke to a supervisor who said we can modify the reservation if we have a lock-off. I have to bank by July 31 so I still have time.

I like the BLT idea but I have little faith that a waitlist would come through.

Thanks for your opinions. Let's not even talk about ADRs... LOL

What one supervisor says might not be what happens in the end. I wouldn't count on being able to drop the studio from a lockoff two bedroom.

For the ADRs you can just book for 2 extra people and if they don't show up it should not be a problem.

We tend to do this because I don't know if people are going to join us and it is a lot easier to drop a guest at the podium than to add one. This trip my DH was supposed to join us but last minute he can't but the system basically makes you book a new reservation if you have to drop someone so he is staying on there and then if my mom or brother join us, since they live in the area, we are set.

I'm working with one supervisor so I'll be fine - just hoping I get a lock-off or it won't matter!

We've had to do this before too! There are def 8 of us, possibly 11. Hope it's not that much harder to book for 11. It's been a while since we've had to do that many!

Thanks guys!
