I would like to know if anyone has purchased the stateroom decorations while staying on board. My daughter is celebrating while we are onboard, but I would like to order the decorations for a day other than our first night. So I was wondering if I could order the stateroom decorations after we set sail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I ordered them 1 week before we set sail and I had my daughter walk into the cabin 1st when we 1st boarded the ship. The decorations were very nice and she loved the little cake that comes with the decorations.

I think the OP was stating she does NOT want the decorations hanging on the first day when they board. She wanted them another night during the cruise. Correct??

I would place a call to DCL and ask them if this can be done. The phone number for ordering the decorations is 1-800-601-8455. I do not see any reason why they couldn't have the room steward hang them up any day while you were all out of the room.

My DH surprised me with cabin decorations on our first cruise (with RCCL) and they were a bit overwhelming!!! It was very thoughtful (except for the fact that he had charged them to MY credit card and I got the bill the month after we got home!!!). I am sure your DD will be happy with the surprise!!

anyone have experiences with the way Disney does room decorations?

Are they "overwhelming" too?

a nice touch?

worth the expense?

Would a room steward be willing to put up decorations that I bring on board if I want to "personalize" it more (with a nice tip of course!)

another bump here--wondering how the DCL decorations look and whether they are worth the $$ for my parents' anniversary.

Decorations can be purchased through Guest Services while on board for any night you would like. We had ordered ours ahead of time so that they would be in the room when we arrived, but almost every day there was an "ad" in the Navigators about purchasing decorations if you wanted to celebrate.

We ordered the Bon Voyage decoration package. We enjoyed the decorations so much that we left them up the entire cruise and then brought them home with us. The only thing not in the room upon our arrival was the cake, which they brought after the life boat drill. I think they do this so it will be fresh as they don't know exactly when each guest will get on board.

I called up and asked them. For $30 they will do a banner, a centerpiece and a cake. I'm leaving in a couple of weeks so I'll let you know how they looked when I get back.

I ordered the Anniversary kit on our cruise 2 years ago.....My parents loved it. I didn't find them overwhelming, cluttery, or junky looking. Actually we brought them home and still have them. It included a banner, a table display and I think i'm missing something else..... hmmm

I think your daughter would love it. I'm thinking of doing a different one this cruise.

Have a nice cruise :)

Thanks everyone for the information. I called Disney and was told that I could order the birthday package, once I was aboard, but that they could not decorate the stateroom-this would have to be done by me- but would provide everthing that I needed to decorate and the cake. I think we will just celebrate my daughter's birthday on the first day so I won't have to decorate myself.
