I have read threads about the condition of the house keeping at the resorts, i just got back from 3 days at OKW in a 2 BR and it was spotless. You could still get a slight smell of bleach. Didn't request any area or floor like i usually do and got the best view ever , 3 floor over looking the golf course. I guss i have been lucky, in the 3 years i have been a DVC member i have never had the bad luck as some i have read about. If and when i do the manager will know 2 seconds after i find the problem.

Yeah! Glad that this happened and thanks for posting your experience!!

Bobbi :goodvibes

Thanks for the post. Hope we have your good luck for our first trip home this coming January at OKW. :goodvibes

We have had no problems so far since joining.

Good for you! We were super disappointed in our room last month. It was in very poor condition. Maybe they're starting to pay more attention to cleanliness.

We were in WDW in October. We stayed at SSR a few nights and at OKW
a few nights. Great experience in both places. Spotless, too !

Thanks for the post! We arrive at OKW on Sunday. Crossing my fingers our room is clean and tidy too. I know I had read some recent trip report where the person had a less than stellar room at OKW.

Nothing negative in the original post so this won't be around long! ;)

Glad to hear that you thoroughly enjoyed your DVC stay. :)

I'm so glad to hear that! We've also had very good luck at our DVC rooms, only a couple minor things that were taken care of immediately. It's great to hear some positive experiences! :thumbsup2

Add me to the list of not having anything negative to say about room condition/cleanliness. I've stayed at OKW (majority of stays here), BWV (1 stay) and VWL (2 stays)since becoming a Member 6+ years ago and never had any major issues.

Great to hear good news for a change!!! Ahhh, the smell of bleach!

Just remember to those who are concerned about the cleanliness.

More times then not, we only hear when there are problems, and I think these times are more the exception then the rule.

But if you do have a problem, don't call, but go straight to the front desk to have it resolved.

We just returned from a week at VWL in a dedicated one bedroom and our room was also spotless. Not a thing wrong in the room.

Never had a problem at OKW, and I'm not expecting one this trip. Now I gotta go get packing! :thumbsup2

We checked into our 2 bedroom at OKW Sunday and the room was clean as a whistle. Not a thing dirty to be seen. The room overall seems to be an excellent condition too.

We only found one thing wrong, a knob is missing off the dresser in second bedroom. We have a call into maintenance on it so they would know - not like a drawer knob is s how stopper by any means.

Love the location of this room; building 36. It is close to the center of the resort and looks out over water and the golf course.

My DD and I were at BWV this past summer and the room was spotless. I have never had a problem with the room being less than perfect. Maybe I should take off those rose colored glasses while I'm there!! It has always been perfect!! :dance3:

Ok, trip over and thought I would post a follow-up.

We opted for daily housekeeping and I have nothing good to report. For $40.00 a day we were told they would, make the beds, put out fresh towels, clean the bathrooms, clean the kitchen, load the dishwasher, sweep the floors and leave soaps, detergent, etc.

We were lucky if they made beds and left us towels. Each day we had to call housekeeping about something that was not done. If I was not paying for this extra service I wouldn't care if someone forgot something one day...but it happening everyday was a bit surprising.

One day we were there while they "cleaned" hanging out on the balcony (we had come back from swimming) and were pretty shocked at the crappy job we saw the person do. The person "cleaned" our two bedroom villa in under 15 minutes and did not touch the kitchen or empty trash.

We called Mousekeeping and mentioned housekeeping had left without cleaning the kitchen and we were told and I quote "so what would you like me to do about it". Um, well maybe ask them if they could please come back and clean it?

When no one ever showed up as promised we spoke to the front desk duty manager who was extremely nice and was not too happy about the comment we received. She was also nice enough to take of that days $40.00 charge which we really appreciated.

I guess they don't really expect to have to do a full cleaning everyday in a villa. I know we never bother with additional cleaning or T&T service.
