We are staying at the POR May 15th for 6 nights and have never stayed on site. Would love some advice on which room or building to stay in. Also what is the best way to get from the airport to POR, we are not renting a car. Thanks, Paula:confused:

This one's easy. Bldg. 14, corner room, courtyard veiw. This is a standard veiw room but always a good choice if you can get it. Very close to the food court area, close to bus terminal, and not too far from the pool.

Do you want a bayou or a mansion room? Big difference in looks inside and out. We like Magnolia Terrace mansion. Central to everything. Will try Alligator Bayou one of these days. Check out the pics on some of the sites and see what you prefer. Rustic or elegant?

Regarding your transportation between airport and resort...

Depending on the number of people in your party, you could use either Mears Shuttle (http://www.mearstransportation.com/) or Tiffany Town Car (http://www.tiffanytowncar.com/).

Tiffany Town Car is about $80 (with web site coupon) round trip for up to 5 people. Mears Shuttle is about $27 per adult (less for children) round trip. You can do the math, depending on the number of people in your party.

I think that Tiffany Town Car includes a 30 minutes grocery store stop and only includes your party. If you take the Mears Shuttle, you will probably have to stop at other resorts to drop off other passengers.

Either can be booked in advance. I know that you can buy Mears tickets at the airport when you arrive, but I'm not sure about the Tiffany Town Car.

Personally, I'd take Tiffany Town Car, even if it costs a little more!

My mother-in-law used the Mears shuttle. She called ahead of time and booked a spot. They told her where to go after dropping off her luggage. It worked out well for her.

I also agree with Magnolia Point for the mansions and Bayou building #14 for the bayous. Other bayou buildings would be 15, 18, 16 and 17. If you choose to stay in the mansions ask them to put you near the river - the mansion buildings are so big that being near the river will put you closer to the center of the resort.

Have fun!:)

Where do I find pictures of this resort including the rooms for the mansion and bayou? Will we need a car during our stay or will using the transportation system be enough. I think we would rather have the mansion rooms,,,,,I think. Would like to see pict. though, before I make my final decision.

We always have our car at WDW, but we never use it. Part of our thoughts about vacation, is not having to move the car. We enjoy using Disney transportation to get around! If you decide not to rent a car and then change your mind while you're there, your resort's guest services can help secure a car for you through National.

I like this site to look at the resorts... http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/resorts/resortmain.htm

OK, we decided we want a mansion room, now what building and what view? We would like to be close to the food court with a pretty view. (not pickey are we) Thanks for all your help and the pictures are great! If you know any more hints please feel free to tell us because we know nothing about staying onsite and are sooooo excited.

I've stayed in Parterre Place twice, in rooms 9712 & 9715 and found these rooms GREAT! It was the side closest to the quiet pool and just a few steps to the bridge going over to food court/main building. They were standard rooms, but could see the quiet pool thru the trees & the river was just about in view. If you request Parterre Place, request the "quiet pool side" as there are only 2 stories to this side of the building & it's close to the bridge.

Thanks soooooo much for the wonderful pictures! My kids and I have looked at them several times and they are so excited to go now. Did you have a rental car while you were there or did you use the WDW transportation? We do have PS at Chef Mickeys but were not lucky enought to get it at Cinderellas Castle. Thanks again for sharing your photos with me and if you have any other helpful info. I would love to hear it! PAULA DAVIS
