Room Charges?

I am hoping someone can answer my question. If I put down a credit card upon room check in for room charging privledges, do I have to use that credit card to pay the balance upon check out? For example if I had a Disney gift card or Disney dollars could I use them to pay towards the balance? Also, if I am allowed to use these payment methods how would I make sure that my credit card isn't automatically charged? Thank You!

You would not want express checkout. Make sure they understand this when you check in.

You would need to go to the desk at check out and pay by the alternate method.

We stayed at Pop in September last year and put a cc down for room charges. We would go down to the desk every couple of days and pay down the balance with a traveler's check. The night before we checked out, we just went down to the desk and made sure they knew we DID NOT want express checkout and that we would pay the balance the next morning. I think we used some TC's, and 2 different CC's (neither of which was the one we put down) to pay it off. Just make sure they know you don't want express checkout... and even if you tell them this, you may still get a little hangy thingy on your door in the morning of your checkout (we did) that said "thanks for choosing express checkout...). Just ignore it.

You should plan on going to the front desk on the night before you check-out and settling the account at that time to your preferred method of payment. You should be able to put a Disney Gift Certificate or Disney Dollars on the room account at any time (either at check-in or during your stay) and it would just be treated as a credit balance.

Oh... sooo that's what that "hangy thingy" was that I saw on some doors a couple of years ago......

Most hotels (I'm pretty sure Disney can be counted under this) usually give you an option upon checkout of whether or not you want to keep the charges on the card or not.
