I ended up charging more than usual two weekends ago while we were at OKW - and I'd kinda like to see the breakdown.

We didn't have the bill on our doorknob on check-out day - good thing, as we charged a lot after 11:00 AM that day - but I haven't gotten a copy in the mail, either.

Do you have to contact the front desk to request a copy - or will they send it automatically?

Just curious - I thought I would have received by now.

But, of course, I thought that about my guidebook and pins, too. (still don't have 'em) But I've beat that horse to death......

If I don't get my expected express check out statement, I always go to the desk and ask for a copy before I leave. They won't automatically just send you one, as they assume you received the statement.

The form signed at check-in authorized them to charge the credit card, so they don't really need another signature. You should probably call and ask them to fax or mail a copy of the bill, as even Disney makes mistakes on these room bills and it's nice to know what to expect on the next statement.

Good Luck!

The checkout envelope says they will mail you a statement if charges are made after checkout, but I've never had it mailed even though I've made charges after. I would call and ask for it. The envelope is usually delivered to your room before 8:00am, wonder what happened.

I believe that in order to get the bill on your doorknob, you have to expressly sign up for Express Checkout. There's a TINY little box on the check in form that you have to check (and maybe initial).

At least half of the time, the person checking me in at the front desk forgets about it, but I always remember to ask for it.

we had express check out at the villas last week .....and when we did not have a folder on the door when we left we went to the front desk....

they told us they do not give "portfolios" to people staying on points who have a zero balance....

does anyone know what the "real" scoop is on .....Express check out.....we wasted time both applying it to the room the night before.....and then the next morning when no folder was there we had to go back to the front desk .....just to be told we would not get any portfolio...

secondly, they put us in a handicapped room without telling us ....a one bedroom non smoking...when i went back down to ask about at least being given the courtesy of being told it was a handicapped room, ended up speaking to the "room assigner" who said it was the ONLY room he had available in the one bedroom category and rooms are all assigned according to requests and booking date....( there is a slight smell to that but who knows )....we were not checking in too early either.....anyhow i told him we should have at least been told that it was handicapped and he agreed but says it does not show up on their screens ( main one i guess).....POINT: what is the real procedure for assigning rooms .....is there discretion on the room assigners part or does he have to follow a process

thirdly, we were not given a welcome home folder ......is this something new .....others seemed to be getting them....maybe the cast member who signed us in is new

.......and NO we did not receive the welcome home "greeting" from the front desk ( as an aside....many times when we were coming back through the security gate for some reason the guards always told us welcome home.....must have been the parking permit )

fourthly, we were in the room on the second day of or reservation when we had a knock on the door.....it was housecleaning and the general manager of the resort wanting to check the unit out........they THOUGHT the unit was empty so were shocked to see us there.....somehow there seems to be a communication gap at the front desk or at least the computer system ( must say our reservations was three separate ones linked .....since we did not get all our nights the first time we tried ) anyhow i told mr carter about not being told about this unit being handicapped at check in and he agreed that SHOULD not happen....maybe he will check into that.....he did give me his card .....and we insisted since they were there that they view what they came to see.....that they were not intruding...

fifthly, does anyone else think it would be a good idea if they had some sort of laminated card in the room telling you what "is suppost" to be there.....eg dish cloths, scrub sponge......a lot of these items were not there when we checked in.....yet when they did the towel and trash on the last day which by the way we phoned to tell them we did not really need since we had not used all the towels...those items appeared....it also took almost two days and three phone calls to get another roll of paper towels.....was not impressed with that service.......there should probably have been a spare roll in the room......but we could not find it.....thus, if they at least had a card telling you what should be there ......you could make just one call to ask for the missing items...

sorry for the long rant but .......these issues were bugging me...like who should i call or write to.....i know i can also write to mr carter and i may do that..

I don't know where it is in the 1BR or if it is even there but there was a sheet on the inside of the cabinet door under the sink in my studio that outlined what should be in the unit at check-in and what the costs would be for additional supplies before the usual cleaning days.

that might be the problem then ....since there is no under the sink cabinet in a handicapped one bedroom.....

During my stay last week at BWV (1 bedroom), I had room charges and the portfolio was already slipped under the door when I checked about 8:00am. I did get a "welcome home" from the front desk CM and a folder, a new design (character mailboxes saying "welcome to the neighborhood). Things tended to slip out of it because the inside pocket was only about 1/4 of the way up. There was an inventory list on the inside of the kitchen cabinet.

Lawgs - you said you were at the "villas". Boardwalk or Wilderness Lodge?

We did express check out,had a balance, and still never got the portfolio under the door.

Twice we've been given handicapped rooms, never informed at check-in,but even if they had it wouldn't have made a difference. I think next time they give me one I'm going to ask for a handicap parking place tag for the resort. If they don't need the room for handicapped guest then why waste the parking place.

We did receive "welcome homes" from front desk personal as well as most of the guards.

If housekeeping & the manager thought the room was empty, then why did they knock ?

debbie sorry....should have included that in the message...

it was the villas at wilderness lodge....

as to why they did KNOCK ....have no idea......they just mentioned that according to the sheet they had in their hand.....the room was listed as not occupied...go figure
