Hey all- going on our first cruise shortly. We were notified that our room was upgraded on the wonder from 1071 to 2583- I have no idea what any of this means haha. Just a different deck? Is there any other difference?

I was kind of looking forward to the budget deck with no so many staterooms to be honest lol

Both look to be inside cabins. Deck 2 is a very nice deck. We often stay on Deck 2. If it was an ocean view cabin the difference would be that Deck 1 has two small portholes and Deck 2 has one large porthole.

Enjoy your cruise. When do you sail? Curious as they had been keeping Deck 2 free for quarantine rooms so maybe they are opening them up again

You can see a deck plan here.

Your new room is likely just about the same as your old room, but one deck up. It's also starboard side instead of port side, but that probably doesn't much matter for inside rooms.

curious for future reference- if we book a room with a porthole or verandah in the future is there a reason for wanting to be either port or starboard? Thanks!

Some people insist on Starboard only because they swear the ships "ALWAYS" dock so that Starboard is facing the public side of Castaway and they think that is prettier. When the ship docks that way, Port faces the natural side of the island - and IMHO that is the prettier side anyway. Plus if you have a veranda you can wave at the Castaway crew as the ship pulls away if it is in backwards.

There are times when for drills or other reasons the ships dock the other way - but you don't know this in advance. So I would never book Starboard just for the Castaway side because there are no guarantees.

Sounds like maybe now Deck 1 only is being reserved for quarantine?
