Room categories at WL

Does anyone know how many of each type of room are available at WL? I'd like to stay in a standard view room because its not worth it to me to pay for a view. Everytime I check for availability though, all I can find are courtyard and lodge view rooms. Are standard view rooms really hard to come by?

Typically, standard view rooms overlook parking lots, and Wilderness Lodge is shaped like a horseshoe, with the parking lot being on the narrow end of the horseshoe. Just about all the rooms overlook the courtyard or the woods.

IMHO, standard rooms, especially at a discount, are the hardest rooms to get on property, followed closely by the standard wing rooms at the CR. I have had a room reservation at WL 3 times in the past 2 years and have never snagged a standard room no matter how far out I called. I did see folks on the board manage to snag a standard AP discounted room for December. I don't know how many they have, but think it must be less than any other catagory. But you have to remember WL is the smallest delux resort which affects this too. I always seem to end up with woods view.

That happen to us last trip too, we just wanted a standard view, we told our travel agent this. She told us the next day she was able to get it for us, after phoning and phoning, so I guess they are hard to come by. We got upgraded to courtyard view room when we got there though, a nice plus

We booked standard for our May trip about three months out. We then decided we wanted woods-view so changed to that. When we got there we had been upgraded to courtyard; however, when we got to the room the "courtyard" view was facing VWL and was basically a very busy sidewalk, and everyone that walked by looked up at us on our balcony! So we asked to have a woods-view like we originally booked and they moved us to 4001, which was on the end of the building overlooking the lake and the boat dock. We could also see the geyser, the EWP, and if we leaned a bit, Wishes. I think we got the best room in the house. We'll never get that lucky again!

Resort police! You're under arrest! :moped:
Yacht Club, Beach Club, and Boardwalk Inn all have fewer rooms than WL.
(But it is the smallest MK resort ;) )

We managed to catch a standard room at AP rate a week or so ago for our late July long weekend. It pays to check for cancellations! We've lucked into lots of great deals on our spur-of-the-moment trips.

another category that came up - I believe it was Lodgeview?! This was in addition to standard (which took me forever to find a date one was available), woodsview and courtyard. Has anybody every heard of this?

Hmmm... wouldn't the Lodgeview rooms be in the Villas? Putting aside the courtyard view rooms (which are, after all, courtyard view), I'd think that it's kind of hard to look at yourself without a mirror. :)

I think "Woods View" has been replaced with "Lodge View." I decided to bite the bullet and book a standard view room for May. I don't usually like to book this soon, but since it seems like room-only discounts are a thing of the past anyway, I went ahead and did it.
