Room capacity??

Ok, now I am in for it,

Does anyone know if you can add a cot to a room, ie. sleeps 4 but need a cot for another person?

I guess we are trying to squeeze as many little cousins in with us........lol

No, you can't get a cot or any extra bedding. The room limt is 4, plus a child under three that can sleep in the supplied porta crib.

Now, not to keep a debate going, but more of an FYI. I spoke with member services and was told that infants do not count as room capacity (that sounds so cold........) but a Studio has a capacity of 4 and "only 4" as I was told. A 1 bedroom has a list capacity of 4 but you may add a rollaway for 5.

The issue of room capacity is related to sq. living area and firecode. Being in the proffession, thats something I will not mess with.

If you are staying at BWV you can request a "studio plus" This will up the allowable occupancy to 5 plus an infant in a crib.

Wow! This is the first time I've heard that the maximum occupancy of a 1 bedroom is 5 and that you were allowed to add a rollaway!

Wonder if the rules have changed or if someone at MS made a mistake???

There are no "rollaways" at any DVC resort.

But one of those 5 needs to be a small child (short) as the daybed is definitely NOT big enough for an adult. I don't think it much over 4 feet long. Also, the studio plus units are not guaranteed - Disney treats these as requests only.

The stated occupancy for the studios and one-bedrooms is 4. This was amended to allow a child under 3 in addition to the 4. Some members have been told that they could have an additional child in the room (above the 4) but that no bedding would be provided. Posters have mentioned bringing Aero beds. Rollaways/cots have not been available in the past. It's possible that a rollaway might be provided on the Inn side of BW but not at BWV.

The pros and cons of these policies are on the Debate Board....I'm just stating the facts to-date.

Interesting - I've never heard of a roll-away in a 1 br either. Since children under 3 don't count - hmmm. We had 4 infants in our 2 br last month. We could have used a studio and conserved points - granted it would have been a tight fit with all 8 of us.

just got off with MS, ahhhhhgain, and I misunderstood/misinformed/mistaken at any rate, there are NO rollaways, the master bedroom can fit the 5th person, no towels or bedding.

A studio plus is a studio with a child sized daybed on the wall across from the bed, next to the armoire. There is no connecting door. As mentioned by CarolMN, I do not think that they will guarantee a studio plus but you can tell them you have 5 guests and need one.
