I apologize if this has already been discussed, but I wanted to pass it on just in case. Apparently this policy change is for internet booked rooms, so what in the world is coming down the pike now? :confused3

Anyhow, I booked a room only rate on the WDW AP website back in June and was supposed to arrive this Saturday, but had to cancel. I was 7 days out when I cancelled. The CM told me that because I was inside 45 days that I would lose my deposit. I informed her that it was not a package and the terms and conditions stated that I could cancel 6 days before arrival. She said that they changed the policy awhile ago, it was 45 days. I told her that she was not correct. She put me on hold for about 10 minutes and came back and said that she was sorry but the 45 day policy would stand and I would lose my deposit unless I could mail or email some kind of proof where I saw this 6 day policy info. She actually wanted me to print off the terms and conditions on the website and send it. I am sorry, but shouldn' they know this??? Anyhow, there was no arguing and I decided to persue it the next day cause I was not giving up. I emailed WDW and shared my story and actually enclosed a copy of the terms and conditions from the website

Well, I did get a message on my answering machine a short time ago stating that they were terribly sorry, and yes they would honor the 6 day policy cancellation and refund my deposit "this time", BUT that was an error and they are currently changing the website to reflect that room only internet bookings will be subject to a 45 day cancellation policy and any cancellations within 45 days, the deposit will be forfeited. :guilty:

Interesting eh?

Actually, I thought it was well known that if you book using the Best Rate Program, you do lose your deposit when you cancel, doesn't matter how many days out. The whole thing about the Best Rate Program was the non-refundable deposit, that's why everyone was upset about it.

Geez, I just noticed that you said NOT BRP in your post subject. I am not too with it today. Anywho, since it was not BR, you still booked online and I thought that online room-only's were the same as a package, 45 days. The only way to do the 6-day cancellation was a booking made through CRO on the phone. At least that's how it was in March. Sorry you had a hard time and glad they made it right for you.
