How do I keep up with my room block and who has booked their rooms and how many rooms are left? Do I get a report occasionally or do I have to request it when I want an update?
Thanks!

Hey Codie...

Regarding the room block, they wont send you a "report" unless you request one. To do so, I had to call the group sales number 407-824-1383, and ask them to fax me one. If you just want a quick update, they can tell you over the phone if it is not too many people. Its pretty easy.

Also, remember that if you have anyone booking rooms outside your block (found better deal, FL residents rate, DVC member, etc...) to get their reservation number and email it to your SM, and your EM. Those nights DO count toward your minimum. We actually had quite a few people book rooms outside our block b/c they were DVC members, and FL residents. It was good for us, b/c we actually used almost all of our blocked rooms up.

Hope this helps
Jamie

I also had to request a report if I wanted one. I totally agree with Jamie to be sure to find out if any of your guests have booked rooms outside your block. We had reserved a room for my parents as well as our honeymoon rooms at AP rates, so we just turned those reservation numbers in to my EM to get them counted. It didn't end up mattering though, because we easily filled the block. It always seems like a huge challenge, but I think it typically is pretty easy for most brides to meet the room block requirement. Also, as an FYI, if they run out of room blocked rooms Disney will still give your guests that rate if there is availability at that resort. That helped us a lot since it's hard to guess where people will choose to stay. :)

Yeah--I think the room block requirement won't be bad...but I am worried about not having enough rooms reserved at the discounted price (although maybe that will discourage some people from coming;-))...but also, I want to use the room reservataion/block form so that I know where to deliver destination bags...

Not sure if this is the right place to be posting this but here goes. I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out how to set up my room blocks for the discounted resorts. Does anyone have a copy of their's to email me? I have 100 people attending, so thats 75 room night guarantee. I am just not sure how to spread out the days? Can anyone give me suggestions?

Thanks

Basically--you just guess...I tried to contact everyone and get a clue of when they might be coming (how far before and after)...about 2 people were able to give me a clue. I made sure rooms were booked for them and told them to book asap after they got the information. Beyond that I booked the majority of my rooms at the cheapest hotel for the night before, of, and after the wedding...with the most on the night of and before. Then I put about 30% of my nights on the moderate hotel and 10% on the most expensive. Most of my guests booked through renting DVC points, so I didn't run out of rooms at all...

I havent booked my wedding yet but im having about 30 guests - so i need to meet the 25 night minimum. Most of my guests want to book a package deal with Virgin as we are coming from all over the UK. does anyone know if these will count towards my minimums??
