room block?

no they don't...

I have asked my EM & they in turn sent me a report that listed how many rooms had been blocked by my guests. Make sure if your guests are staying in a DVC or in another resort & not utilizing your blocked rooms you submit the reservation #'s to your EM for proper credit (they have to be manually added)

How did you suggest that your guests book rooms? Did you give them an option of places to stay? Or did you have them stay in the same place with you and your fiance'?

We are making a little newsletter with resort suggestions, none of which will be the place we are staying since it will be our honeymoon. ;)

On the newsletter we are going to suggest going through the travel agency company we use.

The save the dates have the info in them, I am a custom so if you are intimate, I do not know how to sugguest it. I also did send a news letter b/c my guests were asking about booking so I let them know the info was coming via disney at that time I did tell them that they would be offered a discounted rate at select hotels....

If you call Disney Group Reservations in the Grand Floridian, they will send you an Alpha listing via email or FAX, so that you can keep up-to-date. We don' thave access to a home FAX, but they were always very good about sending the emails.

As for spreading the word, we spoke with a number of our guests beforehand. We let Disney send out the planning packages and then we sent out a newsletter about 4 pages long (2 pages front and back) with information regarding weather, hotels, must see attractions, etc. We established an email account for the wedding itself and asked people to send us their reservation information for guft baskets and to keep an eye on the Alpha listings. We had a lot of military staying at Shades of Green, whcih didn't count, and a lot of military overflow into the main resorts, which I believe did count... I can't remember NOT seeing the names on the Alpha listing.

SOG was the only one that didn't deliver the gift baskets though. We got a call 3 weeks after the fact asking what they should do with it... eat it, duh.

Thanks, UTM...did you do the Intimate or the Custom? I was just wondering, so I would know what to expect if I called asking for a packet to be sent to my family members (don't want my face cracked)... :thumbsup2

We were a custom. I would believe that you could get the information from Disney and send them yourselves. I know the STDs are part of the "package" with customs. I would be really surprised if you didn't have them for an intimate though... it includes information about the Magical Express, discount resort rates, discounted tickets. If you are a custom, maybe look into a generic group reservation block if you don't get one through DFTW.
