Hi everyone,
I was hoping maybe one of y'all could help ease my mind on the whole room block thing. I understand the room nights concept and I understand that if all of the "guarenteed nights" aren't used, we will be responsible for paying for them. We have a fairly large guest list, about 130, so after counting out room nights we are guarenteeing about 95 rooom nights. Now, hopefully all this makes sense and my concern is that we might be stuck paying for rooms. I've estimated on the low side but I still fear that we are reserving too many (my fiance being so unsure about his family isn't helping!!) My other concern is that our wedding is over Labor Day weekend, and if we would need more rooms there wouldn't be any available bc it is a holiday.
I'm sorry this is so lengthy, but has anyone ever ran into any problems like this???

I dont know how all planners are
We originaly had a guest list of 200 Meaning 90 room nights.
We now have 110 people coming.
They were able to lower our room nights so now we need 75 room nights.
were currently we have 70 theres a few people who havent booked yet so we should be ok.
Dont stress if as many guests done come they should be able to work with you on it.

Thank-you for the reply. I'm just really frustrated right now bc I'm trying to get all this stuff done and my fiance is less then enthusiastic about a DFTW. Therefor, he hasn't been too helpful with his part of the guestlist and where or how long they will stay.

You can always offer the spare rooms to people on this board. In addition. If you know someone else who is going who doesn't stay in the room block, you can apply their confirmation to your night total. Hope that makes sense!

scottsbride- when r u getting married? we are getting married on aug 30th 2007 which is labor day weekend. :goodvibes Don't worry i am stressed about the whole room block thing too but everyone says that it somehow will work out so i am trying not to worry :goodvibes

JonetteA- Thanks for the info i didnt know you could apply the room nights to your total if someone was staying at a different resort. :thumbsup2 will they get the discount as well or no? is it just at the resorts you block?

Belle83007- No they will not get the discount.
Somtimes Florida resident rates and other discounts might be better than the wedding discount.
So when you book outside the block all you do is email your EM and give them.
Reservation Name
Dates
Hotel name
and reservation#

They will not get the discount. It does have to be a Disney on-site property though!
