I am trying to fill out this darn room block. Is it better to over estimate or underestimate? I don't want guests not to be able to get a room, but I certainly don't want to be stuck paying for any rooms? Suggestions, help, ARGHHHHHHHHHH . Thanks!

From my stand point, I am having about the number of guests I thought I would but didn't take into account that everyone either knows of a family member or has a condo themself... therefore, I can't fill my room block. I'm only 2 weeks out and I still need 10 rooms. Everyone has booked (most off property at condos) so it looks like I will be paying for empty rooms. I would ask around and see where guests plan to stay, if there is any talk of off property resorts, tell Disney a lower count then you really think.

I say underestimate... There is always a disclaimer by Disney on the save-the-dates and the wedding site that the rooms are based on availability anyway--you can't really control whether every single guest will have a room because you don't know when they'll make their reservation. I found that a majority of my guests booked last minute and I had a lot of headache with meeting my minimum--I met it in the end, but needlessly suffered a couple of headaches and sleepless nights.

If you see that lot of your guests are booking their rooms several months out and you're worried that the room block will run out or something, you could add a few more rooms before your 90-day cutoff date.

And hey, if they don't find a hotel on property, I think there are more hotel rooms in Orlando than in Vegas so they'll find SOME place to stay :rotfl:

I am glad you are done with that, so far, the room block has been the one thing that has given me the most grief. So, it gets better from here. . . .

We are in the midst of making our room block too! It is very stressful. Tonight i am making phone calls to check everyone's status. How am I suppossed to know where they are gonna stay???:confused3 From what i have heard, It gets easier. All the girls before us got through it, SO WILL WE!!!!:thumbsup2
