Room Availability

I have never taken a Disney cruise before and have a question on the staterooms that they show as available. I have read that it is hard to tell how many rooms remain open on a cruise. Cruisefish just shows the available room types. So does this mean when I click on a category, like 4E, and it shows me the staterooms that I can select, it doesn't show me all of them for the category? For example, if it only gives me three to pick from now, can I go back later and it might give me different rooms to choose from? It seems if they showed you every room not booked then it would be pretty easy to see how full the ship was.

On another note, I have been watching the Oct 24th Fantasy sailing closely. I haven't booked yet because my husband is active duty military and I am really hoping for the MTO discount. I know they haven't released those lately, but I am hoping with fall we will get some more. I was just trying to see how full the ship was. There is still main dining available so I am hoping that means it isn't too full yet. The inside staterooms keep appearing and disappearing, but the other three categories are available. If you have any insights I would be appreciate them!

Thanks so much!

It will come up with the best 3 >6 but you can select a stateroom number if you wish.

Different ones may come up on each search, say if others are booking.

Main dinner can give a good indication of availability when it goes the ship is filling up as its the most popular dinner sitting.

However Halloween cruises do fill up.

So if it only comes up with 3 or 4 rooms those are the only available?

Not necessarily. When you choose a cabin category, the system will offer some options of available cabins within that category. You will also see an option where you can choose a different cabin number. For instance, the system shows cabins 1, 2 & 3 available, but I would prefer cabin 4. If I enter that, and it is available, it will be assigned to me. If others are looking at cabins the same I am, cabin 4 might show as unavailable, but then show up again later. It is time consuming, but you can enter every cabin number in a category to see exactly what is open.

If you don't already, I would recommend following justacruiser's thread http://www.disboards.com/threads/gt-mto-flr-discount-list-updated-7-8-2015.3244232/ MTO information.

Thank you! That makes sense.

we have done that sailing four times now, b2b's as well in that time period and love it as it doesn't seem to be as busy as other times of the year. october is a great time to sail, late october imo is the best. the week before halloween, halloween week and the week after are great. if the ships are full they sure don't feel it. keep in mind, it is a disney cruise and it will still be busy, just not insane like some other times of the year.
i have seen rooms offered right up till the end so your probably good. the big question is will they offer the military rate. hope so!
enjoy the cruise.

Glad to hear that is a good time to sail. My kids actually have Oct 29th and Oct 30th off for parent teacher conferences so I would love to take advantage of that! I will keep watching for military rates and hoping for the best. Thanks again!
