Well, you guys got me going with all this upgrade talk. We also booked a GTY cat 11 for Sept. So I just call expedia and asked her to call disney to see if we got room assignments. The girl hemmed and hawed, saying they wouldn't have them yet. I told her I had reliable internet sources that said people sailing around the time I was were finding out their rooms. So she checked and YES!!!4 rooms all next to each other with upgrade. I am so over the top with this....now the question is...are these the final assignments or do you think they might change again by the time we sail???All I have is the verbal confirmation of the room assignment.
My theory on these upgrades, I think on our particular sailing, at this time of year, they want to fill the ship, so they are booking lots of rooms at the cheapest rates and bumping alot of people up.

Congrats! What cat were you upgraded to?

I would think that once you've been upgraded, it's pretty safe to assume you are going to get at least that category. I really don't think they would go back and downgrade you.

Have a blast!:p

ez,
I believe we are on the same cruise 9/18 right????
We also got upgraded from cat 11 to cat 9 on deck 2.
What did they upgrade you too??? What deck???
I'm soooo Excited....this is our first cruise.
Do you think its tooo greedy to hope for another upgrade at check in??????:teeth: :teeth:
I agree with you that I think they are trying to get the ship filled by selling lots of cheap cabins...maybe that means it won't be filled to capacity!!!!
Wouldn't that be nice!!

Unless you have it in writing, don't believe it. I have seen people promised upgrades by thier TAs, but when they get to the ship, they had thier original room.

We are on deck 5 with an ocean view. Don't remember the category offhand...but I know an 11 is no view...so I am delighted.I'm also happy they have us in 4 rooms in a row. Kcatoir, are you traveling with children? I have a DD, 9, my son is 19, and the other family we are traveling with have 19 year old twins.

ez,

Please double check the cabin numbers, because there are cat 11's on deck five. I just don't want you to be dissapointed!

If they are definately oceanview - then good for you and enjoy! We'll be passing you on the 9/20 Magic, so wave!

there are also Cat 11s on Deck 5 which back up to the edge of the ship. They are at the front of the ship and have no portholes.

Yes we are traveling with kids, one big kid DH hahaha...no seriously he is he even asked if he could go down goofy's slide. At 6'2 and 250lbs I told him sorry you "exceed the recommended size limitations"
2DD's ages 9 & just shy of 8.

I got our cabin # and looked it up in my passporter and found it luckly wasn't one of the "noisy" rooms on deck 2.
With 4 land days following this is going to be a GREAT vacation.

Don't count on it. On my 1st DCL, I was upgraded a few weeks prior, then downgraded back to my original cat at the port :( It was a big pain because all of my luggage was routed to the wrong room and took forever to make it to the new one. So don't consider yourself safe when you get your docs either... it could still change.

I booked 7 staterooms cat 6 deck 6 veranda rooms for 3 day sea 4 day land cruise on Wonder. When I made the ressies She assigned all 7 staterooms 5 are nav. veranda's all next to one another. and 2 veranda rooms, 10 rooms away from the others. She said they were guaranted. We booked the BC for the land part she said that they would do there best to get us together at the resort. But there was no guarantee. Which I know that from last years 7 day trip to Poly.

I will remain cautiously optimistic.
Kcatoir- look for us on the ship...my 19 year old has a bandana that his girlfriend gave him...its blue, and he'll probably have it on his arm or head. Or maybe as the trip draws close we can plan to meet up somewhere-Eileen

 We will be looking forward to a great trip upgrade or not.
I don't want to burst my "upgrade" bubble just yet.
ez, it would be great for my DD's to meet a friend, we will be arriving at port around 10:30 to board asap, driving in from orlando. Look for my DH (he is more noticable than I) like I said
6'2, 250 with a buzz hair cut, and a big kid he's usually right in there with the kids.
