I know that DD has to do a Room Block for her wedding. I saw something of what it would look like online somewhere. Now I am wondering....What is the percentage that Disney gives to the people who book their rooms?? And as for tickets is it a percentage off of those also?

DD pretty much has her guest list made but what if she doesn't get the # of rooms she needs to have do they have to pay for any unused rooms?? I believe her list between 80-100 I know they have been messing with it a bit.

I have also seen on here where people ask if other couples need help filling their room blocks. This is something I thought about also, talking about it at work, I figure if she needs help filling the block and people want to visit WDW it helps not only DD but the people who would get the discounted rooms and tickets so it is a win win for everyone involved.

Sadly the only ticket discount is $20 off the park hopper. The room discount is I believe 30% off deluxe, 20% off moderate & 15% off value. I'm not quite sure if thats totally correct, I was told this by my wc.

When making your room block you can hold an extra 10% of rooms over your guarantee. Also depending on how close you live & whether or not people will be just driving you can talk them down on how many rooms you have to guarantee.

I didn't think I was going to get 25 nights, but I'm now at somewhere near 60 now. I mean really all you need is 13 people to stay 2 nights & you met your minimum.

Good luck!

Ok her is a strange question to add to this one.....do they count people or rooms???? I mean when my husband and I are in the same room and when we stay like 7 nights is that 7 off the total or is that 14 off the total # that she needs????? Does that question make sence??

They count room nights. If 1 person stays in the room or 4 people stay its 1 night. If you and your husband stay for 7 nights then you have 18 nights left. Whatever nights your daughter stays will also count for it, as long as its in a disney hotel. Also if you have people staying at DVC those can count as well.

For 76 or more guests, the minimum requirement is 75 room nights.

However, as ElleBren pointed out, this is number of nights, not number of rooms, so having just 15 couples stay 5 nights or 38 stay 2 nights, etc., etc. would fill the requirement.

The discounts work out to about 30% off Deluxe (except the Polynesian, which is 15% off), just under 15% off Moderates, and less than 10% off Values.

Worst case scenario, your daughter can give up the free room night they give the bride & groom in exchange for a lower room-night minimum. And if she absolutely can't fill them, she will only be charged the cost of the cheapest resort she blocked, per night.

As I just posted on another thread, I have never ever ever heard of anyone not being able to fill their requirement and being charged for unused rooms. ;)

Like Luryloo said you can talk them down from the 75 night minimum. Make sure when you do it when you are making your contract. I was able to have a minimum at 25 with 80 guest. You can always add rooms just up your minimum. The only slight problem is toward the end it gets alittle harder to add rooms because of available rooms.

However I was very happy that I did not have to have the 75 rooms because I would not have made it. A month before the wedding they dropped all the extra rooms.

People can still make reservations but they are based on room availability, good thing is if it is in a hotel that WAS in your room block they can still get the same discount.

Is there somewhere I can find out all about hotel requirements and guest numbers and stuff? I have sooo many questions that I'd drive you guys crazy!

The official website all leaves it a bit mysterious!
