Room 8518- comments? and walking distance?

We are booked in cat 4, room 8518, for a 4-night cruise in May. This is a two-part question so help on either would be great.

- What kind of walking can we expect to get to various activities on board from this room location…Such as kiddie pool, main dining rooms, shopping, and theater?

-Has anyone stayed in this room before, and if so any comments on noise level from above or the stairs/elevator near the room would be much appreciated.

We stayed in 8018 which is on the opposite side of the ship as 8518, and I really enjoyed the location. Not too far from anything, and pretty close to the elevators. We did not hear any noise from the elevators at all. Right up the stairs, and you were at the pools, which was very handy. As far as main dining, I think it was only Parrot Cay that seemed like a bit of a walk. We had a two year old with us, and carrying her can make any walk seem a bit longer LOL! I remember hearing noises a couple of times - once was a deck party of some sort and the other was one time late at night. I think some children were running around upstairs. Otherwise, it was fairly quiet. I would choose this location again without any questions. HOpe you enjoy your cruise!

We loved the room and the location, no noise, close to the elevators, great for getting everywhere. It's been a while since we have cruised, unfortunately, but hopefully my trip report on the first cruise answers some of your questions about the location. Have fun, we really loved all 3 of our cruises, and hope to cruise again soon!
