Has anyone been in this cabin, any noise problems from above??

any obstructions to the view??

Never stayed in it but will be on the July 10th Magic. I'll let you know when I get back. I'm counting on it being great!!!

KC - They do not know you are sailing on the 8th of May. Maybe you can let them know after your sailing. - Mike

We sailed in 8586 which was on the opposite side of the ship. I thought it was a great location, just aft of the aft elevator. I did hear chairs being moved every morning, before sunrise, which did wake me up, but the rest of my family never heard it, so it mustn't be that bad at all. I tend to not sleep well on vacation, so every little noise wakes me up.

Just looking through postings..you are the first person ever who I see has sailed on the SS Emerald Seas....
I went in the mid-80s as well...just don't remember when (I was a kid).

Anyway, sorry for the sidetrack :)

Lisa loves Pooh - every once in a while someone will comment on the SS Emerald Seas. I went on my high school senior trip on that ship! What a blast we had, they used the bahamas drinking age for the ship which was 14, so we were all legal to drink as soon as we boarded in Miami! There were 500 seniors on a ship that only held about 900. I wouldn't have liked to have been a paying customer on that trip!

KC22,

We were just in 8086 on 4/11 on the 4 day Wonder. It was a great room. Very convenient to deck 9. If you go out the door and make a right... the first hallway to the right is the steps to deck 9. Brings you aft on deck 9 right by the buffet. If the buffet is closed you turn left going out of the room - and up the stairs - and you're at the 24 hour drink station. One nice thing - is if you get on board early - and the ropes are up so that you can't go to your room... you can always sneak down the back stairs... drop your carryons off.... apologize to the steward.... and head off for lunch.... (of course I'd never do anything like that :teeth: )

We heard chairs moving once or twice and did hear some silverware drop once breakfast got going around 8am.... but never anything more than that..... It is quieter than the last Cat. 3 (8600) which is further aft on the starboard side. We could really hear the thrusters when we were docking from this room. 8086 didn't have any of that noise. The view is great... nice verandah......The murphy bed is in the master bedroom - and the sofabed is in the living area. Let me know if you have any specific questions....

It is a very nice Cat. 3 room... Enjoy!

KC - Sounds like you have a nice cabin. Is this where the party is going to be held since you have the Cat3? LOL - Mike

Virgil,

thanks for the info, could you also tell me what kind of stuff the concierge brings daily and does that room have a jucuzzi?

KC

OK we splurged (10th anniversary present to each other)

KC - Well congratulations on your 10th. It is quite an achievment and I'm hoping you celebrate many more as well. - Mike

Thanks for the info everyone! We'll be in 8086 on the June 19th Magic (Western). I can't wait! (I did pack earplugs just in case, but I can sleep through anything.)
Thanks again!

KC - sorry I missed your post.

The room has a jacuzzi bath.... You'll receive Cookies one day, a mixed fruit basket on arrival, some sweet treats and strawberries one day...things like that.

They'll also have the drink cooler filled with water and cans of soda - but they don't refill it. Make sure you keep the outer door open so that the heat escapes - it cooled down inside the cooler a lot quicker with the cabinet door open (you'll see what I mean).

Just got back, you will love this room..

Whirlpool tub deep enough for dad..

free goodies daily, great view..

Also.. When going to check in make sure you go to the concierge check in (much shorter line).

As far as noise, no different then any hotel room..

If you want more just ask

Glad you had a great time. Anything else you could share about your trip and Room 8086 would be great. What kind of goodies did they leave for you? Was it everyday? Did you ever order dinner in from one of the restaurants? How was the verandah - was it metal or rails/clear plastic? Thanks!

I'm soooo excited!!! Can't Wait!!!:Pinkbounc

we went to the restaurant every night.

On the first day, there were 3 bottles of water, a sprite , 2 cokes and a diet coke. and fresh fruit (daily) (water and sodas were not replenished), but the 24 hour (6am-11pm) drink station is one floor up right outside the Aft Stairwell. (Water, Ice Tea, Lemonade, coffee and hot tea).

2 days we got little finger deserts, one day a plate of cookies, but every day fresh fruit, banana, apple, orange, 2 strawberries and grapes.

The veranda is clear, no metal, you are about 2 staterooms in front of where the metal comes into play.

The pull down bed is in the master bedroom. if you have more than 1 or 2 kids,, otherwise they can fit on the sofa bed.

Make sure you go to the Concierge check -in, shorter line and they take you to the front of the line waiting to board.

Oh how I envy you still looking forward to it. any more specifics please feel free to ask.

KC
