Has anyone stayed in this Cat. 4 room or know anything about it? I've been reading that alot of people don't like deck 8 because of the noise. We have 3 young children (5, 2 1/2, and 1) and I am worried they won't be able to sleep because of the noise above. According to the diagram I recieved, it is to the side of the stage (not sure what stage) in between Goofy pool and Common Grounds. Is there any rooms on deck 8 you would recommend? Our final payment is due 3/5 (ship sails 5/4) so I don't even know if I could change rooms at this point or not.

The stage you're under is the main (only) stage where the deck party is done. We were in 8048 (4 rooms down from yours) and it was very noisey in the early morning hours (4:30am) and the night of the deck party. I suggest you call your TA (or DCL if you booked through them) and see if there are any other cat 4 rooms, further forward or well aft, that are unassigned. We are in 8508 (under the hair salon) for our next trip, because of the noise we endured the last time.

Good Luck.............

We were in 8028 on the Wonder earlier this month, and loved the location. I heard some noise briefly (perhaps a chair or table was being moved but it sounded like a sliding closet door opening) each night between maybe 3 and 4am. I am a very light sleeper. I had no problem going back to sleep. The noise just startled me. DH and DSs 5 and 7 never heard anything and slept through it.

Well, I just called Disney and they said there were no other rooms available. Hopefully, it won't be real bad.
Thanks for your responses!:D

I would suggest that you call DCL the day your final payment is due, or the day after. If people are going to cancel, they may wait until the last minute and you may be able to switch rooms.

I dont have my brochure with me and I am too lazy to look at the disney site but we were in 8550 and yes the noise was terrible but it seemed mostly to only bother me and hubby. The kids were SO wiped out that they slept through it pretty easily EXCEPT the night of the deck party. I was SO glad I brought our sound machine that night (we use it everytime we travel to block out hallway noise, outside noise, neighbor noise) and so we just turned that on and fell asleep to the waves on the sound machine. Your kids are so little (mine were 8,7 and 3) that they will probably not even hear it if you dont mention it. The room was really noisy during any kind of sail away party and also you could hear people running around above your head if you were awake and coherent but I would imagine your kids will be so wiped out they probably wont even notice it except for the sailaway party at night and if that happens I have heard you can put the tv on a "non" station and get white noise and turn it up to block out the sound if it is bothersome. I loved that Disney had the family suite room for all 5 of us to stay in but after our experience we will probably get adjoining rooms a deck or two lower for our next year trip to the eastern. Even though I hated the room I would consider it again just to take the kids on Disney again. It was such a fun experience and for us the 4 night was bearable...I dont know about 7 which is why I say we will probably get a deck or two lower connecting rooms.

Hope this helps!
Heidi
