Greetings!

This is LoriJ's DH. We're sailing on the June 9th, 2005 cruise (Wonder). I have a question about Room 7501, which is farrrrr forward on deck 7. It has a large "Grey" area shown just forward of that, which I'm taking to indicate a storage area. Deck 8's plan shows that the Bridge is above us.

Has anyone on the boards stayed in this room? If so, is it a quiet room? Thanks!

This has to be one of the quietest areas of the ship! We stayed in 7503 last month & the doorway at the end of the hall leads to the officer area to access the bridge. Have a wonderful cruise! It is just a little around the corner from the elevators but no hall traffic, unless you have noisey neighbors. We never heard a thing!

Greetings Lisa!

Thanks for the info, it sounds like the large grey area might be crew/officer quarters and that IS good to hear as it will be a quiet part of the ship! Man oh man, 150 some odd days is toooooo long a time to wait! :earboy2:

Hey thanks Shelly.... I wish we were going that soon! Have a great trip :flower1:

This cabin was great. It had plenty of room for the 2 of us. I feel it would be a bit cramped if there were any more people in it. There was plenty of room for our luggage. There was a closet which held our two large pieces of luggage on one side and still had room to hang up our clothes. On the other side of the closet was the safe and a place to hang clothes. We hung a large beach bag in there to place our dirty clothes in. At the end of the bed was a trunk were we placed another piece of luggage on top of and we put our carry on luggage on top of that piece of luggage. The trunk opened outward and there were 3 or 4 shelves to store clothes on.
Acrossed from the couch was a desk or makeup table and there were drawers to store more stuff. Next to the that was the cabinet that had the tv and it too had drawers and shelves to store stuff.
The couch folds out into a full size bed I think or maybe a single bed, we never used it. There is a pull down bunk bed above that and a small metal ladder is in your closet. Your host or hostess will help with opening and pulling that bed down since it is locked into the ceiling and requires a key.

Outside of the room is a door marked CM only which leads to the staterooms for the captains on board and it also lead to the pool that the crew uses which you can see if you are on 9 deck at the front of the boat. You would think that there would be a lot of traffic in the hallway and a lot of noise but there wasn't. A few times we would see one of the captains going thru the door or the host that was in charge of cleaning the captains quarters would come thru with towels and sheets. All in all it was a very quite cabin. We never hear the other passengers in the cabin on the other side of us we only saw them coming and going.

As for the bathroom. It is split into two seperate rooms. The one by the door has a sink and a toilet and only room for one person. The other room has a sink and a tub/shower. All the toilets on the ship are very loud. So don't flush if someone is sleeping!!!

Our hostess was Willy she did a great job keeping things clean. She was able to answer all of our questions and she always asked if we slept well or needed anything and brought us ice everyday.

You room will be cleaned in the morning. At night when you are at dinner she will tidy up your room and turn down the sheets, make towel animals and leave you a little present on your pillow as well as the Navigator listing all of the events the next day.
Hope this helps and please ask any questions!

I am really interested in that room as well, since it is the one we have booked my parents in for our April 30 Eastern Cruise. We will be on the Magic, but I assume that the information on the room would be the same. I have been a little concerned about the motion with the room being so far forward. Any thoughts on the motion?

Thanks very much for the info!! just a few more days and we'll be doing the "double digit dance"

Honestly, we felt more motion on deck 3 in Parrot Cay than we did in our staterooms on deck 7. We were gently rocked to sleep every night. :) That's one reason we keep booking for that area. Your parents should be fine.

As far as motion the first night was fairly rocky even though the waves were 1 1/2 foot to 4 foot. But we found out from the Captain that one the first night in order to make it to the Bahamas they go full throttle which was 17 knots in order to get there in time. The rest of the cruise the Captains said we would go only 7 knots. It is only 64 miles from the Bahamas to Castaway Cay yet it would take all night to go that far. That is what made us ask him why if we were only going 64 miles why would it take us all night to get there. And he told us how fast the boat would be going. He also said the day at sea would be at 7 knots as well. He also told us that he would watch the cloud deck and manuver that boat around the clouds to give us as much sun exposure as possible. But after the first night the rest of the cruise was smooth sailing. We wore the patch to prevent any chance of sickness. But after day two I took mine off. I felt sluggish and thought the patch was causing it and I felt better once I removed it. I only felt slightly queezey but we had brought ginger capsules and I took 3 of them and felt fine within an hour. You can get ginger capsules at drug store just look in the vitamin section. Plus we stopped at Publics grocery store before we went to the boat and bought a six pack of ginger ale just in case we needed it. They don't offer ginger ale as a beverage choice on the ship.

If you get a chance and are up early enough on the day you dock at Castaway Cay, I think I was on deck at 7:30am, you can watch the boat dock and it was fasinating. They use an air cannon to shot the line out to the CM in order to tie the boat up. Then they connect the gang way to the boat and before the guest are allowed off there is a parade of fork lifts moving supplies off the ship. Food, pop and some other stuff that I could not tell what it was came rolling off the ship. Followed by a parade of CM moving about 15 large carts filled with clean beach towels for you to pick up as you head to the beach.
I was told there is a crew of CM that live on the island along with a nurse.

I have pictures of this room. Give me a couple of days for DH to figure out how to load them for you to view.
