Just booked our first curise in room 5518, any info on this room??? I am travelling with my dh, ds 2 & ds 11. Hope we wont be to rocky on deck 5
thanks for any info

on the Wonder I was in stateroom 5018, the opposite side of the street ;) . I've been on decks 6 & 7 on prior cruises and have found deck 5 to be my favorite. It is a short chute of rooms, less traffic and rockiness really depends on the ocean/weather conditions. We didn't feel much of anything. You're just one deck down to reach the WD theater and shops and ....just a few steps from the childrens clubs and BV theater. DH and I liked the location so well, that we rebooked for the same location next March. Enjoy!::yes::

Thanks for all the great information, glad you enjoyed dect 5 it makes me feel good about our decision.

Last year we were right across the hall in 5513 and we loved it! Like you, there were 4 of us in the room but even though 5513 is Cat 11 with one bathroom, it never felt crowded. I was nervous about getting seasick but most times I forgot I was even on a ship. The times you feel a little sway are when you're lying in bed (but it actually felt nice) and when you're on the john :rotfl:!

The one thing I really loved about the location is the series of pictures of the Wonder being built lining the hallway leading to the room. The wall is yellow and the pictures look really nice. It reminded me of being in a very nice hotel, a sharp contrast to the endless rows of staterooms on some of the decks (where we'll be next month!). Friends who cruised with us were on one of those other decks and we all agreed our location seemed much nicer. The other thing I liked was being able to trek down one flight of stairs to Deck 4 for my walk in the morning and shopping in the evening ::yes::.

Have a great time and enjoy your quiet stateroom on Deck 5 :boat:!

You are right next door to the secret porthole rooms (I've stayed in 20 several times). It's a nice area, and as others have said, it's very convenient. A little hallway noise since you're close to the front of the hall, but nothing major. Some people have complained about the luggage room across the hall, but personally we've never heard any annoying noise from there.

I thought those Cat. 11 rooms would only hold 3. Are these the 'sideways' Cat. 11 rooms? They can hold 4? If so that is good to know. We have been lucky enough to get a SPR for our last and upcoming cruise, but we really like that hallway and if we can't get a SPR, I would like a Cat. 11 in that hall (if we can put 4 in it).

yes there are some cat 11 that holds 4. Some of them do have those upper bunks that pulls down from the ceilings. The ones on deck 5 forward are 'sideway' cat 11. I believe that all or many of the Cat 11 on deck 5 holds 4.

I have stayed in 5518 on my last cruise and it was very nice!! I didn't find any hallway noise to be a problem. I love that area since it is very close to the kids clubs.

We have room 5018 booked for the CA/FL repo cruise. Sounds like a great place to be. Our DD will be 8 and will be able to sign in and out of the kids club, so we figured it would be nice to be close by.

We were in 5500 on our cruise, and it was very convenient to the kids club, close to the stairs and elevators, and a very quiet hall. The crew lets the doors slam, but you're far enough down the hall that you probably won't hear it. You do hear noise from the rehearsals for the shows, and if you happen to be in your room instead of at dinner, you'll hear it then too. Not a big deal though. We rebooked this stateroom for the CA-FL cruise next year.
