I must tell you all about this room. This secret should not be mine alone!! :) What a room. It's a 1 BR with what they call a standard view but I would definately consider it Preferred. I was there for 11 glorious days, returning this past Saturday.

This room was so big! In all honestly I'd say almost double the space in the living/kitchen area over the room I had last year (3101) As you walk in directly infront of you is the living area. Off to the left is the kitchen. What's so unique is that the living area and kitchen have a balcony that goes completely across the both rooms! I had 3 sets of french doors to go out of!! I don't know the square footage, but it's definately a larger 1 BR than most. No breakfast bar. Almost like a Country Kitchen effect with the dining table at the end of the kitchen area, where the living room area begins. Normal bathroom and bedroom but now you have another balcony for the bedroom!

The view - water. It's the little canal/lake that's behind the waterway over to MGM. But.....fireworks!!! At 9PM if you looked to the left off of the balcony you could see ALL OF THE Epcot fireworks. Not just dribs and drabs; all of them. We faced the World Showcase and you didn't know it because of the trees. Then at around 10PM or there abouts out of the bedroom bacony over to the right you could see the Fantasmic lights and fireworks! It was fantastic!!

Ok...it's a long way down the hall, but worth every step!!

Oh we had room service one evening and even the person who brought the food in said "this is a Palace"!! :)

I just had to share this with all of you!

Thanks so much for your post!!!

Anyone else with particularly wonderful stories about particular rooms at BW? I'm very curious about this.

Thanks again, Ms. WDW!

Aren't all catergory (1br,2br,gv) rooms at a particular resort identical? I didn't know one could be larger than another.

All the units are the same at BW... except this set of rooms.... if you look at the boardwalk from the bridge overlooking the water you will notice that the corner rooms are rounded... The shape of the building is different right there than anywhere else in the Boardwalk, that's why the villa is different...

As I've said before, make sure you ask for the room she specified, 3123--the one next door (3121) has a big tree that blocks all fireworks view.

I am going to be booking a two bedroom standard view at the Boardwallk for next August for my family of six. Would this room (3123) be available to us or is this a dedicated one bedroom?? It sounds awesome!! Is 3121 (with the big tree view) a studio? Or another one bedroom?

We stayed last year in rooms 3113 (studio) and 3115 (one bedroom) and loved these rooms. We had a view of Illuminations over the roof of the Boardwalk Inn!! But the description of 3123 sure has this room beat.

We stayed in Room 3123 in April. It was our first ever holiday with DVC and I agree it was a fantastic room.

However, there was one problem: towards the end of our stay, we were woken up in the middle of each night by a mysterious beeping noise. We couldn't track it down and, in an earlier thread, I was told that the most likely explanation was run-down batteries in a smoke alarm.

Did you have this too? I hope they have fixed it by now.

Cheers
Nick

chris1gill - I was wondering if the location of that room had anything to do with the size. It was a corner room!! Now we know. I too had thought that the all the rooms (studio, 1BR, 2Br etc.) were identical until I walked into this one!!!

Nick - No we didn't have any strange beeping sounds so apparently the batteries were replaced in the smoke detector. I did notice that Maintenance was doing alot of work on our floor; changing A/C filters, hardware, etc. so maybe they were doing batteries too!! :)

kt-scarlett - this was a dedicated 1 BR cause I looked for a connecting door and couldn't find one. Wouldn't this be grand as part of a 2 BR???

Gosh I wish I were still there!!! ;)

3121 is a 1 BR. As you go down the hall (further and further!) you notice that 3123 and 3121 are more spread out than usual (in fact there is a "CMs only" door between) and then 3119 is more spread out again. There are only 8 more rooms to the end of the hall!

I posted about this same room after our stay there in May. Looks like they'll be getting a lot of requests for it now. I guess I'd better update my profile now that I've moved to TX...done.

Robin - One morning our locks went out on us and the CM tried to get us in with her Master Key, she even tried 3121 and it wouldn't open either. Is 3121 layed out like 3123? I wonder if all the rooms down that way are the same. I was wondering about the door "CM's Only". What was that? I tried to get in but couldn't!

No I'm pretty sure 3121 is your standard 1 BR--we only had two sets of french doors--any extra space is probably whatever that CM's only room is! I never saw any CMs there so I have no clue what it was.

Do you think that the rooms directly above and below Room 3123 on the 2nd, 4th and 5th floors are the same?

Cheers
Nick

Nick - I honestly don't know. You would "assume" that they are, but they could have studio's below and maybe 2 BR above. When we were in the studio for the first few nights we went exploring. And at the end of the 4th floor, passed the elevators was this big opening. Directly above us were these rooms and they had "double front doors" so those could have been the 2 BR's units. I really don't know. It would be nice to find out!! :)
