Instead of buying something you don't really 'need' this Christmas (example: Budget Board Budget Buster "deals" :)), come here and post what you would be buying - and we'll try to talk you out of it!!!

I wish you would've talked me out of the Matchbox Pirate Ship lightening deal w/frustration free packaging. That was a waste. Have to wait another 2-3 years to get any use out of it.

I am happy w/my crocs purchase, I know I'll wear those into the ground!

I'll be back, I'm sure I'll need a talking to soon!

Oh, heck - I love my Crocs. I may own more pairs than the company does by now :teeth:. Just that, this time, I'm trying to not buy more.

(you know you want them.....come on, it'll make you feeeeel good.....there's no harm in doing it just ONE time....and they're so cheap right now....why pay full price later when they're on sale now???

pirate:pirate::smokin::smokin::furious::stir::stir::maleficen:maleficen:hmghost: (this is as close as I could get to a devil smiley)

I actually have a praise for this topic! I was at Target this past week, shopping with my SIL, and we came across a whole asile of newly stocked with the Zhu-Zhu's! I thought my SILs head was going to pop off she was so excited. She ended up buying her quota....I had 2 in my cart as well, then reality hit and I was like...why am I buying these?? :confused3 It is just because Ive seen the threads here on the diz?? So I ended up getting them for my SIL as she wanted 4 anyways, but didnt get any for my kids. Im very :lovestruc that I resisted the tempation.

:thumbsup2, kwhite! And, jagafen - yes, I do want them... but I don't need them... must resist, must resist, must resist... actually, I figure by now there won't be anything left that I want. I hope :)

I did not even set foot outside my door on Black Friday. No impulse purchases!

I need to put a "block" for Amazon on my pc! ;) I am glad their Lightning Deals haven't been very good the past couple of days! All the gifts for Christmas and my sons' bdays are bought, now need to focus on the food to buy for next week.

Halloween decorations 75% off. The Pharamacy had the cutest HUGE metal pumpkins and fall wreaths. I might wait until they are 90% off after Christmas.:rotfl: IT was so hard to say no I am already dreading the CC bill this month so I passed, for now.

OH, this is funny..... :lmao:

Alright... There's a SPA by my house offering a GC package for $199

-1 Hr. Swedish Massage, Microdermabrasion ,La Europa Facial ,Pedicure & Manicure.

$199.00 (value $358.00) Allow 5hrs.

Five hours of yumminess for $200 bucks!

Talk me out of it. :listen:

I have already been buying for my daughter's birthday (American Girl Bitty Baby stuff). I've gotten most of it on ebay, craigslist and garage sales, but still, it's adding up. I wonder if prices would have been lower after Christmas :0( I have a new set of twins, original crib w/bedding and mobile, the old style high chair with play table with shapes, the rattan suitcase, the hair care kit, hair care DVD, and five extra outfits (two are new), plus an extra Bitty Baby I need to sell (I listed her on craigslist for $30). All told, I think I spent $190 :rolleyes1 I guess it could be worse, buying current stock from American Girl directly would have been over $450 since I'd have to pay shipping and tax :scared1:

I'm still looking at ebay lots thinking... that's a great deal... HELP! I need to be done shopping!

It will be over and you'll have nothing to show for your $200.

The whole time you have the treatments you'll be feeling guilty about the money you spent.

That $200 does not include tax or tips so another 12 bucks or so for tax and 50 bucks in tips (you should tip on the value of the package not the reduced price)

See SOOO not worth it!

I keep talking myself out of the Lost Season 5 DVD set. (Only true Lost fans would understand.). It probably $50.

I have the other 4 boxed sets (though I've never really watched any of them :confused3). But, I feel like I HAVE to have it.

This is an easy NO! Eventually there will be a sale where you can get the set for about $15.00. So wait!

Do as I say and no one gets hurt!

Hmmm.... you're good. pirate:

Dear Rhonda, (kinda like Dear Abby right?? :lmao:)

Where were you about $200 ago?? I keep justifying for the girls because I always tell them no throughout the year, "put it on your list" I say! I am done with their gifts but keep finding great deals on "stuff" they would like.

Then..... DH has requested 3 different books and 3 pieces of software. BUT they are all related to him getting his pilots license for his new career. How do I say no to that?

I should be better soon. My free Amazon prime shipping ends Monday. My endless clicking for deals (hello any fishies out there) will stop!!

Sincerely,

A guilt ridden mom and wife

I'm waiting until the entire series is over and the release the series boxed set!

We got hit by a stomach virus at my house. While being sick is yucky, but not going anywhere saves lots of money.

Don't think I want anything now to talk me out of, but I have the American Girl problem as well. I can get them at a discount through work, and bought 3 from July - Dec. DD will get 1 for XMas and 1 for her b-day next year. Not sure about the other one, but it was only $66, for the doll and two outfits.

You're GOOD! :thumbsup2! So, Cat - did it work? Remember, too, what you can get at Walt Disney World for that $261 dollars...

Okay, I will admit, I am about to purchase the West Wing Complete Series on Amazon.com. I have wanted it since it first came out - but resisted because, well, I couldn't justify spending the money.

I'm asking NOT to be talked out of this, because... we got gift cards as incentives at work today, and swapped and swapped and swapped with each other... I ended up with $50 at one restaurant, and $125 in Amazon gift certificates.

But if anybody wants to try to get me to change my mind...
