I just read about Ron Jon's today on the threads. What is the big advantage to staying here vrs. the Radison. We are arriving Thurs. night and leaving Sat. morning on the cruise.
Would love to hear everyone's opion on comparing these two hotels.

The pool complex is the reason we're staying there. We'll be checking in on Thursday afternoon before our cruise.

I think the list of positives for the Ron Jon resort is long. We decided to spend two nights at the Ron Jon in May instead of the Radisson and are really looking forward to it. Heres a handful good things that attracted us to the new resort:

- Heated Lazy River and pool
- Water Slide
Start from 4 stories high and enjoy 248 feet of pure fun!
- Beach
- Massage Therapy
- Children's Play Center
- Movie Theater
- Miniature Golf

I think the “free” parking/shuttle at the Radisson is a big plus for many cruisers. The Ron Jon is now offering a shuttle service thru a third party company. I have read that the cost is 5.00 per person (each way I think). We prefer to park at the port so the shuttle service did not matter in our case.

I do not know if laundry is a factor for you, but it was for us. You get a washer/dryer in all Ron Jon rentals, EXCEPT the studio, which is what we wanted to rent. They have no other laundry facility on site for the poor studio folk. So, we are staying at the Rad, as it is only for one night and they have laundry facilities for all, and the extra money to stay in the one bedroom at Ron JOn is not worth it for the washing machine. So just a little factor for some, but a the deciding factor for us.

We ended up with a good rate for a one-bedroom at the Ron Jon. We are paying $109 per night. The standard room at the Radisson was going to run almost $100 a night so for $10 more per night we end up with a larger room and from the looks of it a nicer hotel experience for two nights at the Ron Jon.

Since we are traveling on a holiday weekend, the best rate we could get at the Radisson was $119 plus tax (7/2) for a regular room--which is what we paid for a whirlpool suite last year. We got a rate of $97 for a studio at Ron Jons. Since we are renting a car the shuttle doesn't matter to us.

wow, i think the next time we cruise out of port canaveral, we will have to give this place a try. thank you for the information and the photo link!

Thank you so much for finding pictures of this resort! We are leaving in 3 weeks and I have not seen any pictures of this place besides the few that are on the website. I would love to see pictures of the actual villas if anyone has them????

Does Ron Jon's have a web address? We are trying to decide if we want to go to Fl on Sat or Sun. We leave on Sun for a four day cruise. Thanks for all the great info on these boards:sunny:

dtuleya - first just had to respond to your Hershey kiss, we live only a few miles from there, season tickets for both park and bears.

My real question is for those of you that have stayed there. What are the chances that you can get early check in? Our before cruise time is scheduled, 5 nights at Captival Island, but would like to stay on sat after docking and fly home sunday. But would need to get the room early. Any suggestions?

I asked about check in time, and she said although check in is at 4 (we will probably arrive around noon) we can use the facilities until our room is ready, so have your swimsuits in your day bag! Check out is at 10 or earlier so I guess we'll be first in line!
