Do they have an online reservation site? The only site I find is for selling their timeshares. If you stayed there, how did you book? Also, any discounts for this hotel anywhere?

Are you looking for Ron Jon at Port Canaveral? The address is:

Ron Jon Resort cape Caribe
1000 Shorewood Drive, Suite 100
Cape Cavaveral, FL 32920
1-321-799-4900
www.ronjonresort.com

I think I e-mailed them and they called me back, I remember thinking it was a very odd way to make a reservation! We stayed the night before our cruise and really enjoyed it very much. Any other questions, ask away! :teeth:

Well, I emailed them and they didn't have any openings for our stay, so I WOULD have had questions for you if we could have stayed there. Any other ideas on where to stay there? We are spending a couple days at the coast after our Disney trip. I looked at Dave's tribute site from the cruise board, but most of them are either full or not what we are looking for (oceanfront, mainly).

Are you going for the beach? If that is the only reason then I would head to Clearwater or up to Destin or even down to Ft Lauderdale. In my opinion the beach at the port is not the nicest one. There is not too much to do in the area except NASA or the cruise ships. Even Daytona would offer more of a beach experience. Again it is just my opinion. :)

We are going there specifically to go to Kennedy Space center, the beach and the ocean are just a bonus. I want to have an ocean front or at least a GOOD ocean view from our room. I would prefer a suite after spending a week with the kids in one hotel room at Disney. All the hotel websites make their hotels seem great, but we all know that isn't true. I think the problem I am having is that June 3rd is the last day of the launch window for the Shuttle and my guess is that people have rooms reserved through the 4th that they may or may not use, thus, everything is booked. I am hoping someone here has a good suggestion.

Just got back from Ron Jon Cape Caribe. We went on the cruise and stayed there a few days after. They have two buildings: one is oceanfront and the other is a poolside building. We stayed in the poolside building and could see the ocean. The complex has a lazy river, huge water slide and a big pool. They have a nice resturant on site. Also great view of the cruise ships leaving port. Took a tram down to the beach which was large and uncrowded. We had a unit that slept up to 12 people.

Also The Resort on Cocoa Beach was nice stayed there last year here is the website:

Remember both are timeshare units and don't offer daily maid service
Hope this helps

Thanks. These were my top two picks and neither one is available for our dates. Figures. I am leaning toward the Comfort Inn and Suites, which isn't oceanfront but they have oceanview suites or the Hampton Inn, same situation with the view, except no suites.

Try asking on the cruise board. Many people add days before or after the cruise and they know a lot about the different hotels in the area. That is how I found Ron Jon. Have you thought about adding the 3rd to your Disney hotel and then drive over to see NASA? It is not a bad rrive at all about 1 1/2 hours or less if I remember correctly. Anyway post on the cruise board, they will be able to make some other suggestions! :teeth:
