Has anyone stayed at the Ron Jon Resort in Cocoa Beach?

We received their brochure after requesting one. It looks very nice. I was wondering how far a walk it is to the beach?

We'd like to stay on the ocean for a couple days after our next WDW trip.

We've stayed at Disney's Vero Beach Resort the last three years and we just love it. But we figured we might give a try somewhere else.

Any reviews of Ron Jon's from anyone?

Thanks in advance fellow DisBoarders!

and hints, like how to get oceanfront, where the rest. are and how to find the place,,all helpfull, you will see my review, if it is still there,
we stayed last yr.3rd. week in June, first off there is 1 main bldg.poolside then down a street is oceanfront right on the beach, it's just a little walk and they give a tram until, 9pm.we really wanted oceanfront, but when we arrived,it is in the middle of nowhere, right next to the cruise ships,we got oceanfront 2 floor couldn't see anything out of our huuuge balcony,so if this important you have to get there early and prepare to wait it out, verrry important if you have kids ask for free tickets to the zoo show, they give them away early and this is not to be missed he has alligators and spiders and you get to hold them all, but once the tickets are gone that's it, as soon as you get in ask for them, we rented 7 days from redweek
positives loved the resort, clean well layed out, pool great waterslide a little bumby, must wear wristbands, great pool music, rest. on site expensive, but we got some pizza's by the pool and to take back to the room they were pretty good, staff was good, helpfull, onsite store little expensive, great free activities,go to the arrival meeting, go to kennedy space center soo close and good rest. by there and also a walmart by kenn.,seeing the cruise ships from the beach or your room

bad points, beach is not great, little dirty and a weird docking station to the left, that wasn;t pretty to look at, noone seems to be responsible for the beach we saw floating chairs at high tide, bugs were bad at beach hose area,
no good rest, anywhere we tried them all and besides the chains like ihop they were bad.
and because it is a timeshare they will hook you for a tour, they have the info booth hooked up to the tour area so everytime i went to ask for directions or book a manatee boat tour she had a hard sell, be prepared to just say no.a couple of million times, actually i blamed my husband and said he will not do it.. any other quest. just ask...

We stayed here 2 nights before our cruise shortly after they opened in Jan. 2004. We loved it. The pool was great. We ate at the restaurant - very good. We took the tram to the beach and walked around. We did not swim or layout here. The guys walked to the pier and saw dolphins.

We hope to stay here again but longer so we can take in the whole resort.

We had 5 families from our school stay here last year during spring break and they loved it.

When we were here, almost 2 years ago there were not any restaurants near by, so you will need a car.
