Ron Jon Resort - Tell me about it...

i can say it looks pretty cool and i'd be very intrested in doing a tour some time! LOL but when you take 3 kids to FL tours are kinda hard to do! LOL

Dh and I stayed there in 05, one night before our cruise. We would love to spend more time there. The pool looked fab.. our Studio-semi one bedroom was great for 2 adults. The furnishings were high quality. We did not eat at the resort. It is definatly one place we would go back to.. any specific questions?

We really enjoyed Ron Jon Resort. It has probably been 5 years since we were there but the unit was very nice, very clean and spacious. Our two bedroom unit had a jacuzzi tub in master suite. The furnishings were nice. Had its own washer and dryer.

The best part was the pool area. Awesome. Zero entry pool, water slides. It is like a mini water park.

There is a kids play area near a small beach on a pond or small lake.

Overall a nice place. The only thing I didn't like was that it was not close to WDW. I can't remember how far but it wasn't ridiculously far, just further than we have ever stayed from the Kingdom. Maybe 20 minutes. It is on 192 heading west from I4. 192 can be busy with a lot of traffic lights.

Thanks for the replies!

Specific questions.....
When I looked in the Triple A Tour book, it looks like you reserve rooms just like a regular hotel room.....but.....when I went to their website, it looks like if you stay there, they try to get you to purchase into it, kinda like a time-share thing.

Anybody know anything about this?

Thanks!

when we stayed there, we just rented a room and did not have to take a time share tour. It was not required. I sent them an email with my requested dates, and they replied with rates. It is a timeshare, and I am sure you can get a better rate if you take a tour, but if you don't want to you don't have to. You are talking about the resort near Port Canaveral right?

We were just there in May 2006 and it was great! We had a studio with myself, my husband, my two girls 8 and 5. The room itself was a little small but not too small that you felt crowded. There is a nice kitchenette and a great bathroom with whirlpool tub and stand up shower. The pool area was a lot of fun and my girls loved the mini golf. The other neat thing was that you are right by port canaveral so you can see the cruise ships come in and out from the beach. As far as the renting, I called and got the reservation, when we got there, they asked if we would like to see the presentation, I said no and there was not another question asked about it. On tuesdays, they have a wild animal show and they have the hair braiding and other things going on as well as the arcade, movie theatre, and play area.
We really did have a good time! I can't say anything bad.
Oh yeah, the other thing is that the trip to get there from orlando is not far at all about 45-50 minutes. It is kind of strange to get there, you go through an industrial area because of the shipping industry and then you run into the resort; it was just kind of funny!
