I'm not going on a cruise (sure wish I was), but am looking for info. on the new Ron Jon Resort that opened a few weeks ago in Cape Canaveral. I made reservations for April and am a little hesitant because there is not a lot of info. on this resort. I would love to hear from someone that has stayed hear, or that has even seen it. The website looks great, but you never know. Also, if anyone is cosidering this resort, you get a 25% discount if you give the code 102 from the Feb. issue of Florida Travel magazine.

THANK YOU FOR THE DISCOUNT CODE! Do you know how long it is valid?

We have been inquiring about staying here next week! It felt so great to just say that "next week" anyway - the slide is not finished yet. They say it will be finished this week - but we don't want to pay the money and not get to enjoy. They said the rest of the pool area is available to use - they are just waiting for some parts.

We are hoping for some warm water to enjoy our precruise day in Cocoa Beach..

I saw the resort originaly in the Florida Travel Magazine, never thinking that the discount code would apply over Easter break. When I mentioned it, she said that will be 25% off! I was thrilled- it brought my rate for a 1 bedroom down to $142 a night. Compared to what we have been looking at for that time of year, it's a bargain! I'm sure that the code would be valid for next week. Please let me know what you think of the resort when you return. We have never even been to the east coast of Florida, let alone that resort. Enjoy your cruise!

I received an e-mail saying that the rate for August 2004 would be $130 for a studio. I called them a few minutes ago and spoke with Tuesday. She quoted me $100 and when I mentioned the discount code she took another 25% off. Can't beat that!! Can't wait to stay there. Thank you Paige3 for giving us the code.

Thank You So Much!!! Just called about our reservation and added the code.

Thanks Again :)

Wow - thanks for the code. I'll be calling them tomorrow to add the code to our $100 Studio rate. Hopefully it will still be valid for October. I'll post if it is or isn't.

Thanks again!

I just used the code and got 25% off our rate. We are now paying $75 for the studio room in October!

Thanks so much!

I just returned home from my Disney vacation and I took a tour of the Ron Jon resort.

The resort is absolutely beautiful. You can either stay on the beach or in what I call the "family building" which hosts the pool/movie theater, restaurant and mini golf course. The rooms are huge. I did not tour the studio rooms, but I did tour the one and two bedroom rooms. The balconies are imense and many overlook the pool. There is a "mini" minature golf course on-site as well as a small game room and restaurant. The food at the restaurant was also fantastic. The pool is great too. It has a water slide and a lazy river that looks like so much fun. The building on the beach does not have a pool. If you stay in the building with the pool there is a tram "glorified golf cart" that transports you to beautiful Cocoa Beach. I have stayed at many timeshares before and this would be a 5 star in my opinion.

There is a "garden" bathtub in each room and the kitchen table kind of looks like a booth with chairs on one side and a bench on the other.

The color of the lobby is a very bright Yellow and kind of on the simple side. There is also a fairly large theater on site playing up-to-date movies.

I would recommend this to anyone. As far as purchasing it through RCI I found it very expensive. The one-bedrooms are $21,000 and two bedrooms are $29,000. So $130 per night is a great deal.

Any more q's just ask!

We are going to stay here next weekend with the 2 families - 8 total. We got a 2 bedroom for $138 per night/discount incl.

I will post how it was after our cruise! We aren't going to tell our families about it - we arrive Thurs eve, have Fri. day and then Sat. we board the ship!

PolyGirl, Thanks for telling us more about the resort! I was wondering about the beach. How far of a walk is it to the beach from the pool bldg. where we will be staying? Is the beach nice?Crowded? My husband likes to fish. Do you think he could do this from shore? Are there any shops or restaurants within walking distance? Is there a pool bar or grill area? Thanks again for all of the info. on this new resort!!

I am so undecided now!! With the discount, the price would be comparable to the Radisson. Ron Jon's doesn't have a shuttle but we could always take a taxi to the port.

Do they require you to pay upfront for this resort? Currently we have a room booked at the Radisson and we had to give them a credit card number but they don't charge it until you arrive or pay with some other form.

I'm trying to think of the pros and cons for each resort....
