Romeo, Romeo wherefore art thou Romeo.

Have you read it? YES, I was just in it at a local theatre.

What did you think of it? I love it. The language, the story, the characters...everything.

Who's your favorite character? Well I am partial to Juliet because I played her. But I also think Tybalt is the man. hah And I just lovvve Sampson and Abraham (2 small characters in the beginning..."Do you bite your thumb at us sir?" hah)

"I do bite my thumb, sir."
haha.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
I love that!
It's the best part of the play.
:rotfl2:

I've read it...a few times.

I hate the play. I am a huge Shakespeare fan...and I hate this play lol. It isn't his most romantic play, it doesn't teach us about love, it is completely predictable, the characters are weakly composed, they encompass very little complexity, the plot is weak, and overall, it isn't a very good play, IMHO lol.

My favorite character? That's a tough one...haven't read it since Freshman year of high school but I would suppose either the Friar or the Nurse are my favorites OH and Sampson and Abraham.

Even though I hate this play, I still find that some quotes in it are valuable...such as the one "dreamers often lie" - I love that quote.

Were seeing the play on Friday i've never read the book before and dont care one single bit about it and i'm planning on sitting in the very back row with my best friend and some other friends where we can talk and not pay attention one single bit

Oh man, we just started reading this a couple days ago. My favorite characters are the three musicians just because they're musicians.

"I dreamt a dream tonight..."
"as did i."
"oh, and your's was?"
"that dreamers' often lie."
"but in bed asleep, they dream things true."
"ah. I see queen mab hath been with you."

i liked that one.

oh, and this one.
"forswear it sight. for I never saw true beauty till this night."

Yeah I did, last semester.
I really couldn't care about the book either way.
I have no favorite character.

Have you read it? Sure have.
What did you think of it? I liked it alot.
Who's your favorite character? Definately Benvolio.

I read it last year, and I didn't have a problem understanding it because my english teacher explained it all really well.

Uhm, it's alright. Romeo kinda pisses me off though, and I guess I never 'got' the amazing love connection.

It just sounded like two immature kids over-reacting. :confused3

Oh btw, the movie is really gross. I mean, could they have made Juliet's dresses anymore lowcut?

(ETA: I read for Juliet.)

Our class had to make up our own Balcony Scene, in a different way. Mines was wayyyyyy different. The name of my play was Romeo and Julio (Pornounced Hoo-lee-o). It was like a funny gay remix of the balcony scene:rotfl2: . The scene took place in a gay bar in Verona, and while our play going on, I play the song "Please Don't Stop The Music" by Rihanna. PERFECT:thumbsup2 . Let me know if you want me to go into details about it

I like that one also. :)

The Bard has his moments in the play but it's unfortunate the moments are so lacking and sparce. :upsidedow

I have read Romeo and Juliet. I'm more of Macbeth girl, but I love RoJu as well. I dunno about a favorite character. I haven't read it, or watched the movie in a while.

I must agree...it was one of the two movies Leo looked totally delicious in (this and Titanic...though he was a little hottie on Growing Pains, hahaha).

I read it in English class a few weeks ago. I didn't like it that much. Mainly because I thought Romeo and Juliet were young, naive and not actually in love (OH THE BLASPHEMY! Lmao). Also it was for coursework, so all that was on my mind was making notes on every damn thing. We had to like analyse Juliet's character and that bored me to death. If we read the whole thing without analysing every detail, I would have enjoyed it more.

Ash.

we are reading it in class as well! we have to do a piece of coursework on it...i really dont like it tho...we had to watch the film loads!!! my fave character is juliet, although leonardo de caprio plays romeo in the film!!

I read it last year.
I actually really liked it, but that probably had more to do with the film.
My fave character was the Tybalt :)

Have you read it? - Yes indeed. actually it was only about a month ago. we had to read it in english

What did you think of it? - I loved it :D

Who's your favorite character? - as for my favorite character i liked Benvolio actually

we watched 1960's version of the movie
it was pretty good
and omg
Romeo was so fine :D
haha but the actors like fifty right now :scared:
and benvolio was pretty darn cute too

Don't think that the Romeo and Juliet film version with Leonard DiCaprio is Romeo and Juliet as Shakespeare wrote it. That film was highly modernized and there are many things in the script that are not consistant with the play. It's an "ok" movie (IMO) but just to clarify that detail up lol. You can like the movie and hate Shakespeare's R&J and vice versa. ;)

Yeah I read it was a freshman. I liked it. We read it out loud in class which was nice.
I liked Juliet.
