I get to help plan a Disneymoon, whoo hoo!
Looking for recommendations for romantic places to suggest.
So far I will say Boma(they're staying at AKL), La Cellier, CRT for dinner and the Brown Derby. They will have 7 TS credits... going to Sea World one day, so using the TS credit that day for Brown Derby. Need 3 more suggestions. They are wanting to not do character meals.

for this upcoming trip for our family we booked my sister and her fience The Wave. Maybe that would be a choice.

We're going on ours in August (just booked ADRs this morning). We tried for a mix of fun and romantic. You can see the list on my PTR.

I'd say Jiko, not Boma.

I had thought Jiko, but already have 2-2 TS credit meals planned out... I am open for suggestions, though...

That's the problem. The suggestions most people find the most romantic are 2 TS credits.

I have 1 TS locations that are anything but romantic, but I think the food is good. Kona Cafe dinner, for example. Their steaks and pork chop are fantastic. But it looks like the decor of a local coffee shop with a Polynesian themed twist to it. ;)

My next trip is going to be just DW and me, and I am booking Shula's and bluezoo for a couple of our meals. Probably Kimonos one night as well. Those look to be the best "romantic" restaurants on property, and might be best saved as an OOP evening (thus reserving another TS credit for another 2 credit night somewhere). My 2 cents. Have fun planning! :thumbsup2

I would definitely suggest Jiko rather than Boma. Boma is a buffet with lots of screaming kids, definitely not romantic. Jike is quiet and most of the kids tend to be more well behaved. For a special treat going to Jiko and ask for the Wine Room. They are even less likely to have children there and it is quiet.

Definitely not on Boma. It's a buffet (not romantic) and it is very loud! Maybe try Sanaa over in the new Kidani AKV building. It's 1 TS and the food is very good. The decor is beautiful.

OP here, I was thinking more along the lines of Boma for a nice breakfast instead of having all TS dinners :goodvibes Totally open for suggestions for that, too. Our doc has left all the vacation planning up to me, surprising the new wife and I'm almost more excited for planning his vacation than ours :rotfl:

I wouldn't waste a TS credit on a buffet breakfast. Being on a honeymoon getting up for a breakfast may not be top priority. Can they upgrade to deluxe dining? Is that in the budget?

It would be in the budget to do so I bet, but the concern is eating all TS meals and taking too long... They are early risers and they've already been married for almost a year(should call it anniversary trip instead of honeymoon now, lol). Can you do deluxe dining and use TS credits for CS meals? Their concern is spending 3 hours a day eating(and who seriously needs all that food anyhow?)

I'd upgrade to the Deluxe plan, and do 2 credit TS for dinner each night (or almost each night), and some days with a breakfast buffet and others with a CS meal.

I wouldn't really regard any of the restaurants romantic necessarily, there will be children at all them except V & A. I would aim for nicer places though, and they're mostly 2 credit places.

I'd do -
Artists Point
California Grill
Brown Derby
CRT
Jiko
One of the restaurants at the Grand Floridian or Yachtclub
Maybe the luau - I've never been to it but it sounds like fun

and

I'd pay OOP for Bistro de Paris and V&A

Also, I'd book a dual massage at the Grand Floridian and one of the fireworks cruises.

Lucky you, getting to plan someone else's trip! Fun!

I think the most romantic restaurants are those not on the dining plan: V&A, Bistro and bluezoo are my faves.

Brown Derby is not romantic and it's the worst value per credit on the dining plan (entrees there are just a little pricier than the 1 credit places and quite a bit less than the 2 credit places). So I'd swap this out for a different 2 TS, and out of those, I think Jiko is definitely the most romantic. Artist Point is also a much quieter restaurant than Ca Grill, Flying Fish, and the other signatures.

1 TS credit places with decent food that may be a little quiter would be Tutto Italia, the Wave, Turf Club at SSR.

How funny! I am in this same boat. My DD & her DH have been married almost a year and are honeymooning this September during free dining. They chose:

Bluezoo
Big River Grille (they love looking out at the Boardwalk
California Grill
Spirit of Aloha
Coral Reef
Planet Hollywood
50s Prime Time
Sci-Fi
Teppan Edo

Hope that helps!

To add to waht Pakey suggested, Citricos at the Grand Floridian is relatively kid-free and quiet.
Il Mulino is also that way, tho it isn't on the DDP.

Blue Zoo is wonderful and so is Jiko's. Ca Grill is noisy and a bit tight for me.
For the romance take the time and money and enjoy. You can relax at these restaurants.pirate:
