Hello All,

Looking for a nice/romantic restaurant near where the carriage rides at POR leaves from. I'm surprising my DW2B on our first night out as husband and wife.

Doesn’t have to be some over priced stuffy place. Just a quite place, with good food and preferably a nice view although I'm not sure what kind of table/reservation I'm going to get on such short notice.

I was originally planning on going to Kimono’s but found out they don't take reservations and I think I would prefer to be closer to the carriage ride anyway...

How about one of the restaurants in DTD, you could catch the boat over to POR afterwards for your carriage ride.

What about Fulton's Crab House in DTD? We had a very nice meal there on our honeymoon (granted it was awhile ago!)

I'm looking into palces in DTD now so if anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

I will check out Fulton's Crab House - thanks BeckyEsq

Anyone ever been to Boatwright's? The menue looks good but what about views...

Not much of a view from boatwrights. The restaurant is across the open hallway from the windows. You will know what I mean when you see it. I would think that fulton's crab shack would have an excellent view of the lake as it sits in a makeshift riverboat. I haven't eaten there, but have ADRs for january.

Haven't had a bad meal at Boatwright's. I wouldn't call the atmosphere romantic, but If this is your first night as husband and wife, I'm sure you won't be looking at anything except each other. The cast members are excellent and there is a fireplace, so that might be a little romantic if you request a table near it and it is lit.

Portbello Yacht club use to be a great restaurant haven't been in a few years. It is between The marketplace and Pleasure Island.

If you are concerned about being able to make your carriage ride, then you won't be disappointed with Boatwright's.

The beneift to Fulton's and Portobello's is that they are not on the dining plan. That MAY make it easier to get in. Personally, I like the looks of Fulton's more, but I've never eaten at either. Fultons is the old Empress Lily riverboat and is on the water. I believe that Portobellos may also be on the water, but I'm not sure. I would definitely mention that it is your honeymoon when you make the reservations and again when you arrive before you are seated. Be sure to allow PLENTY of time. Some folks have waited for almost an hour after their reservation time to be seated.
