Thinking of having a "kids-FREE" night while we are away in a couple of weeks.

Any romantic ideas that don't involve a roller-coaster?

Any suggestions for dinner and if there is a chance-in-h*ll that I would even get a ADR? Victoria and Alberts is too fancy for us. Anything else?

If signature restaurants are too pricey go to the Wave..the food is to die for and the setting is very calming and relaxing, great service. For 2 drinks, 2 appies, 2 entrees, 2 desserts and 2 hot teas the total with tip (thanks to TIW card) was just $107.

Don't laugh...but one of our most romantic meals on this last trip was at Sunshine Seasons :rotfl:. We were just so happy to have a kid-free evening at Epcot, which we haven't had since DD came along (and something we rarely get at home -- maybe once or twice a year). We ate there pretty late, I think it was after 8 p.m., and the place was really deserted so it felt like we had the whole buidling to ourselves almost. I guess my point is, anything can be romantic if you want it to be.:thumbsup2

My other thought is Tangeriene -- I like sitting in that little outdoor patio and taking in the WS scenery.

Have fun!

Thanks! I'll have to check the Wave out...

In 2008 we went to the Hoop De Doo Revue... again not a very romantic atomosphere but we enjoyed just being together.

I tried to book the Spirit of Aloha show but it is SOLD OUT.

Will look into the WAVE and may try Downtown Disney... :rotfl:

Anyone take the carriage ride from POR?

We love Chef de France for a romantic dinner and, surprisingly, you can often get a walk-up! If you really want to save on the $$$, get something from the bakery (Patisserie) and take it to a table in the courtyard. It is especially romantic at night. :lovestruc

Another place to consider for a romantic meal is the Coral Reef at EPCOT. I know that it often gets a bad rep for food, but my DW and I have had a very nice lunch there with great service and a booth facing the aquarium. It may be possible to get an ADR there because of past bad reviews on the food.

We have reservations for the 5 of us at both places during other times during our visit. I like your idea of going to Epcot and going to the bakery!

Also thinking Downtown Disney and visiting the house of blues...

For some reason, eating by water always seems more romantic to me. I think it would be nice to get some counter service Mexican food and sit by the water, and that wouldn't cost much.

We had a wonderful evening at Rose and Crown, and watched Illuminations from our table. I don't know how we got so lucky, but we had a very secluded table for two directly in front of the lagoon. It was such a nice night, and a real treat, since MIL and FIL were watching the kids.

The most romantic place we have eaten at was the San Angel Inn at Epcot. The atmosphere is just right, beautiful in there. The service was great and the food was very good. I always tell people though it is not tex mex, but more authentic in nature. I highly recommend it. We were on the DDP when we ate there, but I think it was close to $70 - 80 in price. We had chips and salsa (that was hot hot hot), my DH had the Chicken Mole and a carmel dessert with diet coke. I had the filet with black beans and plantains.....mmm mmmm! Along with Flan for dessert. I must say that their carmel sauce is the best I have ever had ANYWHERE!

Maybe the new Cat Cora(Iron Chef)restaurant Kouzzina at the Boardwalk? The Boardwalk setting is beautiful and you can walk to Epcot afterwards I love Greek food... and where else can you get Flaming cheese set on fire(saganaki) without worrying about kids burning off their fingers?!?

I just noticed that you will be at POR. That's one of our favorites since we first went to WDW in '89 with the kids. I know it's off topic and not romantic, but be sure to check out Yehaa Bob in the POR lounge if you have not done so already. We make it a point to go there every visit even when we are not staying at POR.

Happy 40th!! I hope you receive some special "pixie dust" while you celebrate your birthday at WDW. pixiedust:

DH and I went on the carriage ride last week - very nice. The route goes around POR and POFQ so you get a view of both resorts. Depending on the day of the week you might want to make reservations - we were lucky and they had space (weekday evening). But when we asked on a Sunday evening they were booked.

If you like Italian - Tutto Italia is very nice. Pretty restaurant and since our anniversary was on our resort reservation we got an extra dessert - chocolate gelato in a chocolate cup with 2 candles - with singing in Italian!

I agree! That is where we went! I do have to admit I was concerned with this place after some of the reviews that I have seen. We originally wanted to go to the Spirit of Luau show but their was no availability (even checked on the last day). Service - top notch! Beautiful atomoshere and I loved the food!

For drinks we both had a lime frozen maragarita (much much better than the kiosk in front of mexico).

I had the (Puntas de Filete en Salsa Guajillo) Beef tenderloin tips and my wife had the (Pollo A Las Rajas) grilled chicken breast served over red peppers, onion strips, cream sauce, and fresh cheese. AWESOME! Our waiter even took our picture when asked. Very polite. Super fast service.

It was perfect for the two of us! I'm not sure if the kids would have enjoyed the food as much. We then sampled wine and enjoyed the Illuminations show!
