Romantic (not too expensive) restaurant in Vegas?

DH and I have ONE night in Vegas after a convention and are looking for a nice, romantic restaurant for dinner. I have a black cocktail dress I'm hoping to wear so you know the place I'm looking for. We don't want to spend more than $150-$175 (so the Eiffel Tower Restaurant is obviously out). Any ideas?

Outside the Paris Hotel there is a very nice (not expensive) restaurant that I love to eat at. You can request to eat outside and have an incredible view of the fountains at the Bellagio. You probably don't need a coctail dress, but it is so romantic at night eating outside, watching the fountains, and hearing the music that goes along with the fountains.

Go to www.mirage.com and look at Kokomo's, I have ressies there for my husband's birthday in March and it looks great!

I attended a Vegas wedding, and the dinner was held at a restaurant that was off the strip called Le Pamplemousse. It has been voted 'Most Romantic Restaurant in Vegas' and it was one of the best meals I have ever had.

It was about a year and a half ago, but I think they would be right about in your price range.

Valentinos at Venetian or the SW steakhouse at Wynn. Both are excellant with a nod to the SW Steakhouse for ambiance.

The restaurant that Pooh Friend talks about is Mon Ami Gabi. I know many of my friends on my vegas board have liked it but the menu wasn't for me.

The other restaurant at Paris that Pooh Friend #1 was referring to is Mon Ami Gabi. They have a patio area that has a wonderful view (street level) of the Bellagio fountains. We actually prefer their lunch menu (crepes - yummmmy), but I have been there for dinner & it was nice.

Postrio (Wolfgang Puck) at Venetian is also very good.

There is another WP restaurant at Mandalay Bay that is REALLY good.

Each of these places would be nice & romantic - but most any of them are going to come close to your budget amount, especially if you order wine or cocktails. Vegas is much more "gourmet" than the old days & a nice meal is going to be comparable in price to WDW. There is a Cheesecake Factory at Ceasar's Forum Shoppes & a P.F. Changs at Alladin that get lots of good reviews. They would be more in the moderate price range.

If you can squeeze Eiffel Tower into your budget - it is well worth is just for the romantic view! Maybe go up there for a cocktail? I can recommend their Appletini's!

(Of course, if you want a bargain - one of my favorite places is In 'n Out Burger, but you wouldn't need the little black dress there.)

I just came back from there last week and all of those that everyone has mentioned would be good, but pricey.

I like the Top of the World restaurant at the top of the Stratosphere. It's a beautiful view of Vegas, and it rotates (I think 360 degrees in one hour). The food is very good too.

Mandalay Bay has lots of beautiful restaurants. I've only eaten at the Cafe though. (We went to see Mamma Mia, which was excellent!)

If you're willing to go outside of Las Vegas, trying looking at restaurants at Lake Las Vegas (just outside of Henderson). There's a Hyatt Hotel that's supposed to have a really good restaurant, and there are restaurants at the Casino Monte Lago and the shops at Monte Lago. The landscaping is gorgeous out there (Celine Dion and other stars live in the gated community there), and it's on a man-made lake. There's also a Ritz Carlton, but I haven't heard anything about the restaurants there.

I've heard that Bellagio has a great buffet too, if that's an option.

Sadly, Kokomos is the only restaurant I have eaten at in Vegas that I would probably never go back to. It was VERY expensive, everything was a la carte, and the portions were very small. It was really pretty though. They had a shrimp cocktail appetizer that was "market price" on the menu. Someone at the table next to us got it and it looked so cool! It was a glowing blue ball of ice with giant shrimp all over it. They were very excited until they got the bill. We heard the gasps all the way over at our table. It was $99!! For an appetizer!

If you go Downtown, there's a restaurant called CenterStage at the Plaza with a view of Fremont Street. They dim the lights during the Fremont Street Experience light show. It's changed format a bit since we were there, but it was very nice and not too expensive (especially if you subscribe to the Las Vegas Advisor and have a 50% off coupon!)

Nah...it's only for work. We go every year and this year I don't have to catch the red-eye out. I also want to see Avenue Q at the Wynn, but I don't think DH would go for it...
