Well, we have decided that DH and I will drive our smallish SUV and stuff to Disney most of the way the day before and grandma and 2 kids will fly down. So we will actually have a half day on our own at Disney before we have to pick them up at the airport.

There are so many places I have always wanted to eat, but did not go to because it was either a little too fancy or they did not have anything the kids would like. Now is my chance. Any suggestions for a somewhat romantic, more adult atomosphere lunch spot?

Thanks!

If you like sushi, we really enjoy Tokyo dining. It's generally pretty quiet and you have a view of the world showcase.

Finding somewhere romantic for lunch is pretty difficult since there'll be many families with children having lunch at the same time. Your best chance would be at one of the resorts (GF Cafe?) or DTD (WPC first floor?), rather than in a park.

Almost all of the restaurants mentioned on the other thread are only open for dinner so they won't work. Since you said there are many places you would like to try, perhaps pick one and go there.

DH and I had lunch at Sanaa last summer and absolutely loved it! There were very few kids there and it was quiet. We loved looking out at the savannah!! The entire staff was very gracious and unobtrusive. We can't wait to go again (just the 2 of us) in December!!

2 places stick out in my mind.

San Angel Inn is a perfect spot. It is located in the Mexico pavilion but the decor is set to make you believe you are outside at night. You dine along the small "river" which is the boat ride, next to the volcano, with the "stars" sparkling it is very romantic.

Tony's is the other spot. While it isn't known well on the boards, we had very good food on our anniversary there. We dined for lunch. With the decor set up like Lady and the Tramp, it oozes romance.

With each restaurant you have to like the menu or it won't be enjoyed. So look at them and decide. Oh and know that San Angel Inn is not the tex mex style food you get here in the states, it is more traditional, still very good.

Have fun you 2 love birds!!

I'd recommend Sanaa at AKV Kidani or the Turf Club at SSR. I'm not sure I'd call either place quite romantic, but they are fairly quiet, low key, and have great food!

Sanaa, especially if you have a car. Reasonably quiet at lunch plus savanna views.

I think all of my picks have been mentioned already, but I'll second the Grand Floridian Café, the San Angel Inn, Turf Club and Sanaa. Fulton's or Portobello at Downtown Disney may also fit the bill.

Brown Derby. Go for the earlier (11:30) or later seating times. If you avoid the lunch rush it is a very quiet, romantic restaurant. and even during the rush it is quiet for a park restaurant.:thumbsup2

Fultons or Portabello Yacht Club at DTD are more adult oriented at lunch than any of the restaurants on the dining plan.

Fulton's :thumbsup2-- we like to eat in the lounge -- nice view, adult atmosphere. Yes, it's a bar -- but good vibe. :goodvibes

Agree with Brown Derby, Wave, and Sanaa...also consider: Turf Club at Saratoga Springs. A little out of the way, but good food, great view. Quiet, cool, and very good service.

The Hollywood Brown Derby at DHS or The Wave at the Contemporary are two good ones.
