Has anyone ever used this package? Is it a benefit or not?
DH wanted to get it for the Spa and Palo ressies rather then flying in the night before and getting in line, etc.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!!!

One of the most compelling reasons for arriving the night before is to ensure you don't get caught up in some transportation snafu that makes you late for your cruise. I signed up for REAS several months ago for a December cruise but have not yet made any reservations. I know, the cruise isn't close enough to fall within the early reservation time limit but I see that many posters have called early to make reservations. My sense of doom tells me that DCL will not contact me for reservations and I'll have to take what's left by making a big whiney scene...So...I'm arriving the day before departure just in case there's an airline problem and taking advantage of early reservations if it happens....

I have booked the REAS for DW and I on our anniversary cruise in late November. I was able to call and already have my reservations for Palo and the Spa, and have had them for nearly a month.

As for a monetary benefit, I think it works out to saving you about $50-75 (not sure of exact figure) over items purchased separately (Palo, Spa, gift basket). You also have the advantage of the romantic turndown on one night and an expanded menu for the breakfast in bed (my understanding is that the normal room service breakfast is only continental items, not hot foods).

Now, DW and I don't have to worry about the reservation scramble, and this allows me to surprise her with the perks for our anniversary (she has no clue).

P.S. I would definitely still arrive the night before. You never know what is going to happen with the weather and/or flights. We are driving down and will still be arriving on Saturday.

Videogal - Not sure I quite understand. If you have REAS, you should call DCL and set up your reservations ahead of time (60 days I think). Don't wait until you get there. They will not call you, you need to call them.

DCL's people will tell you that they will call approximately 30 days out. I did not wait for that call myself. I called Debbie (her info is on many threads here) and actually made my reservations at nearly 4 months out. Even at that point, some of my times were limited on the Spa, but that may have to do with the fact we are doing the Spa on the sea day. But, I was able to get exactly what I wanted for Palo (at sea night) with no problem.

So, I would not wait to call either. I would call them myself (which I guess I did, didn't I?). Kind of brain dead today.
