Hi all.

I've seen lots of reports about it.

Here is what I know
-Palo and spa ressies before cruise. I like this idea, alot!

Romantic turndown-this would be cool-do I get to choose the night?

Champagne breakfast in bed-can they provide sparkling grape juice, or another alcohol free alternative?

Then I need opinions-is it worth it?? Factoring in the avoidance of the ressie rush, and the other services ( am I missing something?), was it worth it?

TIA!!

We booked the REAS package for our 2004 cruise and are going to add it to our 2005 cruise. The romantic turndown service is done on the night you have your Palo reservations, I don't think it can be changed. You can get non-alcoholic sparkling apple cider for the champagne breakfast, we did!! I totally think it is worth the extra price. It costs $339 for 2005, and here is a breakdown of what you get:

Palo surcharge: $20
Couples Massage: $242
Welcome Amenity: $59

So, as you can see, you get $321 worth of items paid for, NO running around, and the romantic turndown and breakfast in bed also for $18. It is TOTALLY worth it, and I'll keep on doing it as long as DCL offers it!!!

Lori, thanks so much for the quick reply! That's exactly the kind of info, I was looking for!

We did this package a couple of months ago and thought it was VERY worth it :) One other perk that Debbie at DCL has been doing is she allows you to request which dining rotation you would like. Since we were on the western itinerary, we chose the APL rotation because it meant we'd be in Lumiere's for formal and sem-formal nights, Parrot Cay for pirate's night, and Animator's for the first night (which put us in our character breakfast the next morning). This is not something that is guaranteed and it's not officially part of the package, but we really appreciated being able to request a dining rotation before getting on the ship. Our request was granted, and we had the APL rotation :) This might not be a big deal to a lot of people, and in retrospect it really doesn't matter which restaurant you are in on any given night, but it was a nice extra perk for booking the REAS package :)

P.S. If you are traveling with kids, you can order food for them too, for the morning of your champagne breakfast in bed :)

Also we had the option of booking the Palo Brunch and Tea. Of course there is an extra charge for these but we went ahead and booked them. This way all we have to do once on board is add any other spa ressies we want and that's it.

I went ahead and added it to my reservation. Thanks so much for all your help, everyone!

still haven't heard if you can get an alcohol-free alternative to the bottle of wine you are given?

also, can you "trade in" that bottle of wine to "upgrade" it to a better/different option? Or is it a get what you get kind of thing?

I did request a bottle of sparkling apple cider to be placed in the basket instead of the champagne, but unforunately I guess that request didn't make it through. My TA said it is possible, but I guess it got lost in the shuffle. I don't believe you can trade-in the champagne but you can bring it with you to Palo's or any of the on-board restaurants and enjoy it there if you wish with no corkage fee.

I would think if you wanted to exchange champagne for something non-alcoholic you would be able to do so ... for various reasons not everyone can drink champagne, and I would think DCL would be sensitive to that.

I booked through All Season Travel. Can I call Debbie at DCL to make my Palo and spa ressies? Does anyone have her number?

TIA
