DH and I are going to WDW for the first time without the kids in June. We'll be on a fairly tight budget, but we want to do at least one nice, romantic dinner.

The atmosphere is as important, if not more so, than the food. Victoria and Albert would be too formal for us. We like cozy and inviting more than fancy and formal.

It can be a place in or out of the parks. We have one non-park day planned, and it happens to be on a night when MK is having fireworks, so I thought maybe one of the resort restaurants with a view of the fireworks would be nice. But we're open to all other suggestions too.

What are your favorite romantic restaurants at WDW?

We have not eaten there ourselves but a lot of folks seem to enjoy Narcosees (sp?) at the Grand Floridian. You can ask for a table to see the fireworks. Folks have said it is more casual, but still fine dining.

The California Gill on top of the Contemporary has a great menu, bar and view! Last summer, DH and I had a PS at about 7:30PM and we waited outside and watched the castle change colors until our pager went off. During dinner, we were able to see some of the fireworks. (Request a table at a window...) They pipe in the music from the park, dim the lights and stop serving during the show. We plan to do it again! The house white wine, MacCrosite's, is pricy but very good. :D

We LOVE CG but I don't find it cozy at all. It has a very modern feel and is busy and noisy unless you are seated in the wine room. The food and service are great though.

I agree that Narcoossee's fits your description. Great seafood. Another place that is sort of cozy to me is Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club but of course you wouldn't see MK fireworks there!

All of these spots can be fairly pricy so I would check the menus and prices to make sure there are things you like at prices you're comfortable paying.

I agree with Narcoossee's and also suggest the Yachtsman Steakhouse at the YC.
