romantic dinner dilema

I have Cali Grill booked for Sept 12th (our second honeymoon) and just realized there is no Wishes that night since it is MNSSHP! There are no openings on the 11th or 13th! HELP! Where else should I look for a romantic dinner for two (we are on the DDP so using two TS is not a problem). We ate at the Yatchsman Steakhouse a few years ago. It was very good, but it wasnt' really 'romantic'. Could of been the time of evening we went also. (it was early).

Just me but if your Cali night (non-Wishes) is on your anniversary I wouldn't cancel. I've heard that is a really nice restaurant.

I found that most places aren't really that romantic -- just too many people - so if romance is the key, you should keep that other ressie!

Anyway, I did like Cinderella's Royal Table but it may be hard to find a ressie there too. Or eat at the Polynesian (either Kona or 'Ohana) and sit on the beach to watch Wishes another night.

I think you should keep your reservations too. We saw the most beautiful sunset over the Magic Kingdom when we went. I agree that Wishes would add something special to it, but I think it's a romantic place and the food is really delicious.

There are still fireworks, just not Wishes. 9:30PM

How about Citrio's . We ate there is April for our 25th Ann. it was very nice.

My first point is that there will still be fireworks, it's just that it will be Hallowishes due to the Halloween party at the MK. It's still a cool display so I wouldn't be upset about that.

My second point is that CA Grill is not my idea of a romantic restaurant at all. I guess we all have different ideas of what constitutes romantic but unless you're seated in the Wine Room (which doesn't have an MK view) the restaurant is crowded and busy and very loud.

The food and service are usually quite good, so I think you'll be happy with the meal but if your idea of romantic is anything like mine then don't look for a quiet, intimate ambiance at CA Grill.

What a relief!

I saw that there wasn't going to be fireworks as well during my dining visit (sept 29). Will this be a 9:30PM show as well? My ADR is for 9:20PM.

The most romantic restaurant in Disneyworld is Victoria and Albert's. No it is not included if you are on the DDP but the experience is sooo worth it. DH and I went there for our 15th anniversary last year and I will never forget it. Small intimate tables, no children, personalized service. Worth every penny and then some.

I have heard about V&A but we are renewing our vows on the Disney wonder a few days before (this land portion was a later add on, so trying to keep expenses down). I may just keep our Cali Grill as it works in to my plans for which park we'll be at each day. I do need to make one more reservation for a TS and am looking for something in Epcot.

Epcot: We love the Biergarten (Germany). It is definately not romantic, in the quiet intimate sense, but it is alot of fun with a great band and great food. You might also try for patio seating at Rose & Crown (UK) and catch a great view of Illuminations.

Ooh! Ooh! I have a restaurant for you in Epcot: BISTRO DE PARIS! It is the restaurant upstairs from Chefs De France. You can make reservations through the usual number, but only 30 days in advance, so keep that in mind. The menu is awesome and the atmosphere is the best! Very few children and it is the most romantic restaurant we have see in Disney - and we ate dinner on our wedding night at California Grill. BONUS: You can see Illuminations from a window table!

The only really romantic restaurant I've been to at Disney is Victoria & Albert's. Beyond that I agree with a PP who said that there are just too many people at most locations.

I'd keep California Grill and still enjoy the view. Even non-wishes, the view is pretty kick butt at California Grill.
