Romance in the World

My husband doesn't understand that I want to absorb EVERY little teeny tiny bit of information I can about our next disney trip. So when we went to the book store and I found a book "Disney without kids" that had more information re: romance and quiet spots for people in love to spend a bit of time together and experience the magic, then any other book. I wanted to buy it. He said "when you bought your passporter, you said that was all you needed to plan our trip" (that trip was in January and 4 days)

So I thought , Ok, I'll go to the most informed people I know, you guys here at the DIS.

Even though he is pig headed, I love him and want to have some special moments in some of the more romantic areas of the parks, but unfortunately, I don;t know the parks that well. Our January trip was short and missed alot. This trip is longer and I want to plan a bit of extra happiness. Can you help me with ideas for quiet and romantic places to go or things to do. I have a few ideas but I would like to do some semi spontaneous things that he won't know about.

You came to the right spot. But first a question, where are you staying for this very romantic trip to WDW?

Unfortunately, money is held in a tight fist (DH's) and we're booked at All Star Sports. It was the only value available when we booked our room with the Free DDP. Since we figure, we'll only be there to sleep and change, it won't be that bad. I'm going to try to come up with some ideas to make it a bit nicer that I can bring with me.

This isn't in the parks, but Port Orleans and the Wilderness Lodge have nightly carriage rides - very romantic. DW and I always see the Cirque show and then we take a carriage ride at PO. This year I think we will try WL.

Inside the parks - hmmmmmmm

MK - I would think Tom Sawyer Island might afford some quiet spots. The walk from Tomorrowland to Mickey's Toontown is usually quiet. Find a spot near the rear of the train so you can cuddle. If it's not crowded, TTA can be a spot to have a private moment

EP - There is a rose garden to the right (with your back to Spaceship Earth) of the main walkway from FW to WS. England has a small park just to the left of the Rose and Crown (you can get a int from the cart) - that's a nice place for people watching and/or Illuminations. There is also the gazebo end of the England pavilion - if the band is not playing, very quiet. Canada has some nice gardens near le Cellier

For any park - try EMH evenings (if you can stand being up that late). Some nights the park will virtually empty and you will feel you have the whole place to yourself. I did this at MK, EP and AK last year at Christmas time - very very nice!!!

Some of our favorite times are swiiming in the pool after the day is over at the parks. At the All Star resorts this can still be busy, but the later you go, the less kids there are.

I know you said romance inside the parks, but there is plenty of romance outside the parks that is free. GF is just beautiful and there are plenty of cozy spots that overlook the lobby while you listen to the band play. I also find the boat rides incredibly romantic, especially during Wishes - take the boat from MK to to GF or Poly. Watching Wishes from the Poly beach is romantic, too. Walking around POFQ/POR is also romantic, very scenic. Oh, and the Boardwalk ... very romantic to stroll around there at night.

My DH and I will be at AS Sport the same time Sept 14 through the 21st we schould get togeter. My DH and i like to walk around the Poly's beach around sunset and then go to OHANA and a nice romantic dinner.

Downtown Disney, the House of Blues is a great place for a late dinner and on Friday and Saturday after they stop serving there is a free band right in the resturant.

We always eat a nice dinner at the GF, sit in the lobby and listen to the band, and watch wishes from the dock. They pipe the music from outdoor speakers so you still are enthralled in the experience but with much less people its more personal and romantic.

DH and I really enjoyed the Brown Derby at MGM. Great service, quiet and cozy booths/tables and wonderful food. I think this would be a very romatic choice.
