During our last trip to DL (2011) my husband were separated, but decided to take the trip together for our son. We still managed to have fun together, but obviously, it was slightly awkward.
Well, we have reconciled (yeah! :cheer2: ) and are going to have a DL vacation do-over in October. I was hoping to have a chunk of 2-3 hours with just the 2 of us while DS is with his grandparents. Are there any suggestions about romantic places to eat or just hang out? (besides Blue Bayou). How bout can't miss photo ops in DL or DCA?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Golden Vine Winery at DCA! You can do wine tasting...nice, romantic place to relax! And, Congratulations!! Have fun!!

For a romantic photo op, don't miss Snow White's wishing well off to the side of the Castle! Esp at night after a coin has been thrown in.

My husband and I like hanging out in the French Market at any time during the day, but esp in the evening. The people watching is fun.

It sounds silly but Rancho Del Zocalo is really pretty at night too.

Congrats!! I'm glad your story ended happily!

A great photo op would be for you and your honey to be on the bridge by snow white's grotto (maybe smooching :scratchin), and someone snap your picture from the castle bridge :goodvibes Of course in front of the castle, and even parts of Main St and NOS!

I agree with French Market, I also love Cafe New Orleans to share some sweet glances with your DH. ;)

Carthay Circle, on the balcony.
Snow White's Wishing Well
The carousel :)
I love riding Storybook Canals, especially at night, it so magical to me.

Thanks to all for the great suggestions! Can't wait to get there!
I was told that there is a mural in DCA that says "And They Lived Happily Ever After" - can someone tell me where that is located? We have a sign above out bed right now that says "It's Never Too Late To Live Happily Ever After". I would love to get a pic in front of that mural! :lovestruc

The mural is in the exit side of the building where they have turtle talk with crush and artist alley. It is also fun to check out inside as they play clips from Disney movies with the songs playing!! Enjoy!

Congratulations on the reconciliation! It's so rare to hear of that happening, and I know it's HARD work! So congrats to both of you!

When DS was 17 months old, we went to Disneyland for the day with my brother and his wife. They watched him while DH and I went on Space Mountain for the very first time together. And it was great! I hadn't been on the ride since I was a child, and I just laughed and laughed. For some reason that moment was more romantic than anything we could have created for ourselves.

I have different recommendations for different times of day. If your free from child duty hours are midday to early afternoon and you don't mind leaving the park, you could take the Monorail over the DLH and spend a romantic hour or two in Trader's Sam's Tiki Bar. Its a cozy and dark bar that opens at noon but does not typically get substantial number of customers until about 4pm. You could get a quite corner table, enjoy lunch from their substantial appetizers menu, order a tropical drink, and pretend you are honeymooning in Hawaii (the decor is wonderful retro over the top tiki). In the evening, if it is a chilly night you can go into the GCH and either enjoy glass of wine and appetizers in front of the fireplace in the Napa Rose lounge or go for the full splurge and eat dinner in the restaurant section. In the parks themselves, sadly some of the best spots for romance (or what we used to call in high school making out) are history. Motorboats, Adventure Thru Inner Space, snuggle up Matterhorn bobsleds, Peoplemover are all gone. I still find a stroll through NOS lovely and romantic and its usually pretty quiet back in the Court des Anges (though I read on some thread that they might be turning that into a pirate makeover place this fall - like BBB but pirate dress ups). There is the newly reopened Aladin's Oasis in Adventureland and it is v nicely themed and quiet in there if its not at a character meet/greet time. Have fun!

There are so many great photo ops if you can find someone to do it for you or get a photopass person who isn't busy:)

We did a honeymoon shoot in DL in the spring- a friend of mine actually blogged it today! So many places don't even look super Disneyish and are very romantic.

Here's the blog link (with pics) so you can get an idea. As well as my trip blog for the rest of the shots. Our fav shots are def in the courtyard at NOS or the hallway by the Rancho Del Zorcarro (sp?).

I never thought of having a professional photog go with us to DL and take pictures. I loved the blog and trip report. Love the pic she did with your mouse ears too. Way Cool! Congrats on your marriage and I wish you to live happily ever after :)

Thanks! Not everyone obviously would want to carve out a couple hours to do it, but there are some great photo opportunities that are out there to try even without a professional:)

Inside the Animation Academy, you can't miss it. :) There are always CM's in the area and I'm sure one will take a photo of you. :)

Congrats!

Yep, here's what it looks like (with my blurry daughter :P )

I think that'd be a GREAT place for a pic :)
