My fiancee and I are visiting the world the week before thanksgiving. Anyone have any tips for romance? Also we love characters but because we're two adults tend to get ignored. On our trip last year we went to the crystal palace and were ignored by every character unless we deliberately flagged them down! Anyone have any tips?

I'm sorry about the character thing. The last time I went it was with my brother (we were 21&18) and my parents and we never had a problem with our character meal but we were at the Garden Grill. I'm heading there in 20 days so I'll let you know if BF and I find any romantic things to see/do and how our character experiences go.

FYI - Lilo and Stitch are VERY attentive at Ohana - there was a couple celebrating their anniversary all on their own and they gushed over them :) It was cute.

Places where the characters come to the table and the food is brought to you work best.

Not sure where you are staying, however I just got back from a long weekend trip w/ DH and DD1. I found a very sweet spot for quiet time not entirely alone spot but a quiet one at the AKL.

Setup a dinner ADR at either Boma or Jiko and then go over a bit early to AKL. As you enter the front door of the lodge. Go back through the lobby area toward the Savannah and stay on that floor level. Off to the right or left is a door that leads to an outdoor balcony w. rocking chairs setup and over looks the Savannah and the frolicking animals. Very romantic and beautiful view especially as the sun sets and dusk appears.

Enjoy!

Rent a boat for a relaxing cruise around the lagoon. My DH and I did that on our honeymoon. We was a wonderful "captain". Doing a Wishes cruise or Illuminations. I think I read a while back that the Wilderness Lodge offers some type of afternoon picnic on a boat. Try www.allearsnet.com for more info about that.

As for the characters, in MK there is the Toontown Hall of Fame where you would have one on one attention or in Epcot with their Character Connection. As for being in a restuarant if they seemed to skip you, make a friendly little comment, ex- Eeyore- Are you so gloomy that you walked right passed us?

Hope this helps you out. :)

How about a late dinner at Cailfornia Grill at the Contemporary, with Wishes near the end?

Maybe just a tough day for the characcters when you were here, I seem to never have a problem with other adults I am with.

And welcome to the DIS.

There's horse-drawn carriage rides at POR, and a boat ride there from DTD. You could always hop a park bus to POR, take her on a carriage ride, then take the boat to DTD for a nice dinner. dining could probably suggest a very romantic place over there, I haven't tried any of the restaurants there myself.

My dh and I will be having a private dining experience at Grand Floridian at the mariana with a butler. We will be able to watch the fireworks and the electric parade. This is where we had our wedding reception 10 yrs ago. I think this and the carriage ride is the most romanic and quiet time together. But whatever you decide to do have a great time. :thumbsup2
