Hi there!

I recently joined the DIS board and have found great information in planning my first trip to Disney!

My boyfriend and I are going at the end of February... not really a special occasion... I've just always wanted to go. About a month after our departure date is our 4th dating anniversary... so I'd love to celebrate early at Disney.

Any ideas?

I've never been there before so I don't know what "romantic" things there are to do.

I'm a lot more of a Disney fan than he is but he has become more interested in going after learning about the variety of things among all the parks.

I have looked up Disneyflorist.com but everything there seems soooo expensive.

Can I really just buy anything from anywhere and have it sent to our hotel, then hopefully to our room? If so, when would you recommend ordering it?

Ideas please!!! Thanks in advance :)

What would you want to order? What would he like, or is it for you? How much time will you really spend in the room?

I'd like for it to be a gift for him.... we willnot spend a lot of time in our room but I thought it'd be a pretty nice surprise to come back and find a little something :)

Sure there is always ways to work some magic. Does he golf? Arrange a golf lesson? Fishing? Arrange a fishing time. You can always buy something when you are at the parks and hide it under his pillow. You can order a cake for dessert at your nicest resturant dinner you will be having. You can buy disney items before you leave for your trip, hide them in your suitcase and put your own basket together for him as a surprise. What about La Nouba tickets for the both of you---it is a really cool show.
I am always surprising my dh with something everytime we go but it is getiing harder to do. He is like Eeyore so in 2003 I had a basket delivered to the room with an Eeyore in it and some other small things (candy, golf balls, ect....). Eeyore still sits on our dresser. :)
I think most of the fun for the suprise is the planning of the surprise. Enjoy. Let us know what you did. Have fun making magical memories.

if you give the room cleaners a heads up or maybe even the front desk that's it special occasion perhaps they could make a neat design or something for you with the towels...

For about $35 you can book a 25-minute horse drawn carriage ride at either Fort Wilderness or Port Orleans-Riverside.

Fancy romantic table service dinners are nice. But you can also go to the Poly, get a big dessert item and a favorite beverage to share, and take them down to the lounge chairs on the beach. Time it to watch the Electrical Water Pageant, or the tops of the fireworks over the Castle. Dark, romantic, and inexpensive.

You might want to look into the Wishes Dessert Party.

You could also go to POR for a horse drawn carriage ride.

At DTD, the hot air balloon ride might be romantic.

Honestly...anything can be romantic with the right person. Have fun!!

We did out first solo trip w/o the kids in January. We found that watching WISHES from the beach @ the POLY was great (and free). Just get there early for a nice spot. The music is piped in too !

My last trip was for my DBF's birthday and I had a bunch of things planned for him.

Find out if he might like Hidden Mickeys. If you google it, you can easily find out what they are. They're great for waiting in line or just taking a break somewhere and maybe sidetracking for some fun. My DBF was interested so I bought him a copy of the book and snuck it in his carry-on for him to find.

Drinking around Epcot's World Showcase is a very popular thing. I'm sure there's a thread about the best drinks they have. You can offer to pay for his drinking! That's what I did too.

Arrange for a few dinners together. We were also celebrating our anniversary so I made an ADR for Boma's dinner.

Speaking of anniversary, be sure to pick up "Anniversary" pins at check in to wear in the parks!

If you'd like to send a gift basket, you can always try Memories by Betsy. A lot of Disers have used their services and they're great cause you can customize your basket and is cheaper than DisneyFlorists.

You could go to Garden Grocers to order a bottle of champagne to celebrate with in your room. Special Disney glasses can be bought at Downtown Disney, or ordered from Betsy.

Hope these help!

Thanks for the suggestions!

One night we are going to watch Wishes from Main Street and the 2nd night, I'm seriously considering the poly.

I am a lot more into Disney than he is... so I think the Hidden Mickeys is a great idea to get him excited :)

I've looked at Disney Florist and like the Minnie and Mickey Congratulations package, comes with a framed photo of the two of them and personalized messages :)

As for dinner reservations, I was thinking Citricos would be a nice romantic dinner :)

I will look into Memories by Betsy.

Thank you all!

If anyone else has any great idea, I'd love to hear them :)

Dinner at California Grill. Try to get a reservation during the fireworks. Pricey but its magic.
