I very, very rarely watch this show anymore - lost interest the beginning of the new season - but I saw a commercial that I've been wondering about..
I think it was in regards to the season finale - which was either last night or is coming up next week..

Anyhow, Matt was saying something along the lines of, "I'm tired and I'm thinking I should just close up the Roloff farm." - and then Amy replied along the lines of, "I think we should sell it."

Is this the end of the Roloff farm - as well as the series? I know the show that I caught at the beginning of the season was looking an awful lot like those two were going to end up divorcing..

Anyone know what's going on?

Thanks!

I wondered the same thing. I watched last night, and they most definately did NOT sell the farm... he was just having issues with the county with permits or something. I thought originally that they would divorce, but apparently not. Time will tell...

I caught most of last nights show. The town zoning dept came down on the farm. They are zoned for farming but the town wants to change it to commercial since there are all the buildings on the property. The town was going to shut them down unless changes were made. Matt was saying that they should sell the farm. Matt had to make many changes to the structures. I think that matt didn't get permits for some of the buildings on the property either. It was interesting to watch Matt interact with the town employees. He got rather rude with them.

I could see if it was just a farm -growing pumpkins but they have turned their pumpkin season into a tourist attraction with the wagon rides, all the buildings to check out etc.

What really shocked me was the clips for the next season. The camera pickups up a thump in matt's office and Jeremy goes to check it out. it shows Matt laying on his side next to the desk. It ''looks' like they are all just standing around asking him if he is already. The camera didn't seem to pickup any response. Someone says "get some water" Then you hear their daughter saying "father!!" I wonder what that is all about.

Hope this fills you in.

Me too... looks like exhaustion... we would have heard if he had a stroke or heart attack or something.

I thought it was very odd that the family didn't seem too concerned that Matt was lying on the floor. There was no sense of urgency. Amy says "Are you alright?" Something about it just seemed a little "off" to me. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happened.

Matt is fine. He just got back from a short road trip with Zach, and they're filming the next season. :) Also, he and Amy seem to be getting along fine these days; the last couple of episodes show them getting along well and speaking respectfully to each other (unlike the beginning of the season!). :)

P.S. Not sure why Matt was on the floor (maybe he tripped and fell??), but I'm sure they felt it made a good seaon finale'/cliffhanger!

EDITED TO ADD: I don't think it was a good cliffhanger, I don't like when anyone plays on anyone else's emotions, such as making their fans worry about when Matt when he's really ok. But that's TLC for you.

Sounds like yet another one of Matt's issues with just doing whatever he wants - when he wants - without getting the proper permits.. Nothing new there.. If nothing else, he's very impulsive with his actions.. LOL..

Interesting previews about next season.. Not sure I'll be watching though..

Thanks for the responses! :goodvibes

It was a horrible cliff hanger for TLC to do.

Matt is diabetic and he was complaining on the show how he is dizzy and very stressed he is.

Last season, they had Amy crying and saying how disinterested Matt was in their lives and this year, or last summer when they filmed, Matt pulled a getaway on their family vacation and took Jeremy to Switzerland, while the games for Little People were held in Ireland.

I have one comment about last nites show. When the county board came out to look at the property, Matt took the county board member in his mule. Amy came outside and hopped in the back seat. For some reason Matt was upset with her. I think Amy did it, because she wanted to know the bologna Matt was going to try and get away with.

Well one of the reasons I pretty much stopped watching the show was because I got tired of Matt's sense of "entitlement".. Not saying Amy is perfect either, but he really grates on my nerves when he "expects" everything to go his way (and only his way) or tries to play the sympathy card..

However, I wish him no harm and hopefully the cliff hanger was nothing more than a little dizzy spell or something..:goodvibes

I dont know the details, so no flames please..In our area, it can only be considered a farm if they put out more than they bring in. They really are using the property to make more than theyre selling in pumpkins. Between the show and everything else..the city may have had enough. Too bad ive been missing the show lately..sounds like its getting good!

the roloffs have been tangling with washington county dating back to 2000. there are newspaper articles about how all the misc. structures (western town, castle...) were built without permits and the county got after matt b/c of public safety issues (matt contended he did'nt need permits b/c the structures are'nt open to the public, then argues that he can have them as a means to entice the public to come to the pumpkin patch:confused3).

matt contends he's being targeted by the neighbors due to jealousy (he makes more on "farming" than the neighbors)-neighbor's say jealousy has nothing to do with it-it's land use, issues with trucks/dust on roads, traffic, how everyone should be subject to the same zoning/land use/permit law enforcement. matt says county is singling him out to go against-county says they respond to complaints that are filed by the public, he's had numerous and has been found not to be compliant with building codes/permit laws.

i noticed on last nite's episode that matt mentioned several times that while he believed he fell into the category of being a "farm" the county was saying he was a "commercial buisness". this might be the big issue going on-i'm not sure how it works in oregon, but in some states (like where we are in washington), being a commercial buisness is prohibited in some rural areas and even if it is allowed, it carries a much higher standard of regulation. this regulation can include issues with the employment of minors which i could see the roloffs having concerns with. the twins are both adults, but jacob, molly and some of those teens that work during pumpkin season are not.

i don't know about oregon, but up here if a commerical buisness is designated as having amusements (which the roloff farm with the tractor pulled rides, the castle/western town...for walking around has)-individuals under 18 are prohibited from working on the premises. and you have to have some insanely high liability insurance for.
