They are safely in DC and currently enjoying lunch!! They meet up w/ their guide soon to start touring!!!! I'm curious to see if Buffy sends the bellhop to find some CALGON this evening! LOL

I don't believe she is with her four. This is her eldest son's school trip. She is with a bus load of eighth graders.

Yes, she is with a bus full of 8th graders!!!
Around 2pm they were headed into a museum and she had already had it out w/ a panhandler who was on top of the kids... She was a momma bear in action!

Around 11pm last night they were hoping to be at the hotel... They have a jam packed day today... I'll see if I can get some highlights on their stops this morning!!!

Omg what a crazy day yesterday, we lost a chaperone at the capitol, they almost lost me at the national archives. Thankfully the one dad who is with us came back for me. The tour guide needs to take a chill
pill! And our drivers need to learn directions. I have taken to be navigator as well.
We have 25 kids with us who I am so very proud of, they have been awesome! Even when the kids from other groups have not been.
My 6 girls are a blast! I do a Blink kid sound off and and they all shout out their names, that worked really well at the FDR memorial because it was so dark.
We are headed to mount Vernon this morning, then home. We are exhausted and I know it will take days to get my thoughts in order to do a trip report but we have had so much fun. I really love these kids and I hope to keep in touch with them. It's one of those groups that can drive you batty but you just know even from kindergarten that they are destined to do great things.

Glad to hear things have gone fairly well and that you have a great group! We went to Mount Vernon on our honeymoon and really enjoyed it. DH is a history buff and I have always loved Biographies so we spent it visiting many of the homes in the area.

National Archives.. I should have given you a list of info to get for me.. Military records for my ancestors would have been nice.. Did you see the WWII memorial??? My kids LOVED it... they loved all the memorials...

We did a night time walking tour of the WWII memorial, Korean war, lincoln memorial, and 2 others I can't remember which.

I did see the sheep, tell C they said hello.

We literally rushed through the archives, just enough to show the kids the declaration and the constitution.

Now we are headed home and watching national
treasure.
