I'm just wondering if you can tell me which attractions I should avoid. I'm not scared of the dark or anything like that but I really don't like your traditional rollercoasters. I've already decided that Everest and Rock 'N Rollercoaster are out for me but I'm not sure about some of the others. I'm thinking I could handle Thunder Mountain but not Space Mountain. Is Thunder really that bad? Thanks for your help in advance.

TM isn't bad, if you dont want to go super fast, sit in the front. Traditionally on wooden roller coasters if you sit towards the back you tend to go really fast but on steel roller coasters it doesn't matter so much. Worse comes to worse, go out in front and watch it a few times and make the judgement call after that. It's and awesome ride either in the front or the back!!

I think I may be able to give Thunder a try. I'm still not sure about the others though. What about Tower of Terror at MGM? How bad is it?

TofT is a drop ride at MGM you first go into a room and hear the story and then you wait in line to get into your elevator (you sit and have seat belts) and then it takes you up and you see the ghosts of the hotel and the doors shut and you go up more and then you move forward, then you go up once more and then they begin to drop you. You have random drops, they arent all straight down but maybe one or 2 and then 3 or 4 little drops and then your done. They take your pic too. It's one of my fav rides. Its more of a tummy tickler!! My brother and I rode it almost 15 times in a row the one year during Fantasmic (i'm sure if they still operate the rides during that anymore)

As far as like Mission Space goes, its not really a roller coaster but if you get motion sickness you might want to skip that, although i hear they have a 2nd version of it too that cuts the motion in half but I have yet to try it. I rode it 3x in a row in 2005 and by the 3rd time i was starting to feel sick and ever since then I havent really enjoyed the ride, but its cool to experience it! Test track is awesome too! Soarin is amazing!!!!

Thanks for the info on Tower of Terror. I'll have to think about it. I don't know if I could handle it or not.

I am a roller coaster chicken. That being said, I LOVE BTMRR!! I was nervous the first time I rode it, but now it's one of my favorites!

I also braved RNR - rode it twice, back to back times, actually - and I have to admit, I am proud of myself. Will I ride it again next week? Umm....still thinkin' about it. I am wanting to finally ride Space Mtn. (I figure if DS-9 can do it, so can I!), but I don't think I could do Splash or EE (it's the drops that get me). TT is great! ToT is totally out of the question.

But give BTMRR a try - you'll be glad you did! :thumbsup2

I'm a HUGE coaster wimp (hate drops) and I love SM and BTMRR...the theming on SPlash M is cute, and the drop on the end is over so fast - just one drop...not like a roller coaster where you keep going up and down and up and down...so try Splash once (I actually hate the getting wet part more than the drop part).

I'm pretty sure I'm not going to try EE, RNR or TofT. I might try Mission Space green version. I love Star Tours.

Ok. I think I've decided not to go on: Space Mountain, Exibition Everest, Rock 'N Rollercoaster and I'm still not convinced of Tower of Terror.

I'm also a roller coaster chicken, but I absolutely loved RnR, ToT, I still have yet to try EE, but SM was great. Not too rough, but not too babyish either!

Splash Mountain has several little drops, nothing more than you would feel on BTMRR. Then the one big drop which is several seconds of the "tummy tingling" feeling. Its just long enought o say "whoah this is a big drop" but not long enough to say "o man im' gonna be sick".

I would say that Space Mountain is more difficult to handle because you cannot really see where you are going, sometimes -- but, if you sit in the back seat with friends/family, you'll feel a little more comfortable (because you see where they are going, first!). I was apprehensive, because I'm not a big rollercoaster fan, but I like the smaller, not-so-crazy ones...and Space Mountain was just fine. No upside-down moments, and lots to see to keep your mind off the next turn or downward spiral. It was decidedly fun. :)

So maybe I'll reconsider Space Mountain as well but I'm definitely not doing RnR or EE.

Start with Big Thunder... if you actually find that you like that, move up to Space Mountain. If you don't like Big Thunder, you are not going to like Space Mountain because of the dark.
If your fear is something that you want to get over, I have a few tips. First off, scream. When we are scared, we tend to hold our breath subconsciencously. Screaming lets out your anxiety and allows you to breathe which helps you to calm down. Secondly, if you do a ride two times in a row, by the end of the second time you will find yourself saying... "that was it?" We tend to psych ourselves up so much we don't really get a realistic view of the ride. On the second run through, you know what is coming, and so the panic subsides and you will be amazed at how different the ride feels.

I'm a cautious coaster rider, I love splash mountain. PLEASE don't miss that one! BTMRR is a bit jerky/bumpy for me, but it's do-able. Don't attempt RR, it really scared me! TOT wasn't scary, just a bit annoying, not knowing when you're going to drop. Space mountain was a bit scary but nothing like RR, I think you'd be scared but you'd be happy you did it.

I'll be sure to ride Splash Mountain. I really don't think I'd have a problem with it.

The scariest ride of all is the Speedway w/ DD8 "driving" -- & I use that word very loosely! :scared1:
