Roller Shoes at Disney World

No, but I saw maybe 20 kids with those heely things on last week. They weren't cruisin' around causing trouble, just trailing behind their parents.

Please do a search for Heeleys and see what you've opened up....Florida State law does not allow their use, so no.

if there not allowd then why are there so many kids with them on in the park? we were there not too long ago for the weekend and i saw atleast 7 kids rollin thru the park...cms should say something to them or their parents but nobody did.

Skateboards, rollerblades, rollerskates are not allowed in the parks or at the resorts. I only hope that the Heelies fall into that catagory.
I have a question for those of you who believe that their kids should be able to wear their Heelies in the parks......Why? The parks are crowded with people, there are obstructions everywhere you look...I just can't imagine the benefit of wearing them. Usually kids wear them to get around faster. That is just not an option at WDW.

So, while the signage may not actually state Heelies, please believe that they are the 'type' thing that is being said 'no' to in the parks/resorts

Did anyone else hear a hissing sound when you opened this thread? I thought I heard a stick of dynamite being lit? Just kidding, BarbaraK. It's just one of those touchy subjects around here.

:rotfl:

Both my boys have heely's, however they will not be in the suitcase next month. I dont care if they are good enough to be in Skatetown USA, an amusement park full of people is not a place for Heely's.

If rules are made to be broken so are legs and arms.

Good for you! I'm so used to parents who say "it's not allowed, but the rules aren't enforced so it's OK". You are teaching your kids the right way to live. Nice to see it from another parent. You know, the whole "it's good to know we're not alone" thing.... ;)

No they are not allowed, but people allow their kids with them anyway. Some CM's are more strict than others. Generally, parents should not let their kids even bring them as a consideration to all the other guests in the park. After almost and actually being slammed into in malls and other places, I have a strong hatred for heelies and the person responsible for inventing them. :)

My daughter brought her brand new Heely's to WDW this summer. No one said anything. I told her that she is responsible for staying away from others, and no heelying in crowded areas. If she falls down, it is my problem, not Disney's.
We had no problems at all.

Right, but now that you know it's against Florida State law you are going to leave them home right? You are going to teach your child that it's wrong to break the law, right?

I agree, I hate these stupid things. when I first saw them I thought "who would buy these for their child? Where would you use them? And How lazy are we going to let our children become? " Apparently my questions have been answered!

Can you point me to the law? Yes, if I knew it was illegal I would not have allowed it.
And I did not buy them for her, she bought them herself.

I guess what she choses to teach her children is her choice and her business. She is not teaching them the murder people or sell drugs here. Get some persepctive.

And for the second question, we have power windows in our cars right? Bicylces? Remote controls for our TV's? Automatic ice makers?

I guess that's how lazy.
