Hello

I bought a pair of roller blades today in quest for losing weight/keeping fit. I used to roller skate a lot as a child and have decent balance but oh my god is roller blading hard!

Those things are sooo heavy on your feet. If I was on a completley even path my calfs & ankles hurt a little bit and if I was on a slight incline my calfs & ankles were screaming for help! Needless to say df almost wet himself laughing at me!

Am going to give them another go tomorrow.

Well done! DD had roller blades in December and still can't go very fast. When I bought them I wasn't sure if the sizing was US or UK (in Toys-r-Us) so I tried them on myself in the shop. I can still remember the amazed look on some young lads' faces when this 5'4", 15stone woman was trying on roller blades. Needless to say I didn't try skating for fear of breaking the skates (and a few bones!).

Anyway I'm sure it's fantastic exercise.

Well done Jodie ~ I bought a pair of roller blades a couple of years ago and haven't used them yet! You've got me thinking about having a try :flower:

Good on ya Jodie :flower:

You never know they might offer you a job at Annetts Diner DLP :teeth:

Well done Jodie!

I used to love roller blading, not sure I'd be brave enough to try now though! The embarassment could be too much!

Well Done, DD has been learning but spends more time on her bum at the moment :teeth:

Roller blades are great for keeping in shape.
I did it for 10 years.
About 3 years ago I broke my shoulder when I fell coming down a hill.
Yes I bough a new faster pair but I do not use them much and I have learned to avoid hills.
Most off all I have I learned I am not immune to wearing safety gear, although this probably would not have helped the break I would have avoided a lot of scrapes.
Buy safety equipment and learn how to use your brakes…… :cool1:
Enjoy
