Rollaway $$ solved

My family of 4 is staying for 6 ngts. at RPR in July. My sons are 14 and 17--one is over 6' tall! and we had almost opted for getting a rollaway at $25 a night! I remember some thread here suggesting airbeds taken from home. Sure enough, I looked online and found a twin size w/elec. pump that comes in it's own travel bag...$24.97 including shppg because of a 20% savings for ordering online! (Kmart site, Item #1102644) Just thought I'd share that with you nice people on these boards. I've learned so much from reading (lurking!) over the past 2 months here. Hope this info can help someone else!

don't forget to pack a sheet. There is an extra blanket in the closet. Also you will need to deflate the bed each morning because you will have no room to walk if you don't.

Thanks for the suggestion for packing sheets. This airbed doesn't sound too bad. It's 74x29" and only 6" thick. It comes with an elec. pump and travel bag so I'm hoping it'll be easy to handle. I'll count it as a piece of baggage for our flight. We used to travel/drive with all 3 kids and just had one of them use a sleeping bag. Now we travel with just 2 and they take up more space!! I wish RPR offered a weekly rate on a rollaway.

I have slept on one of these air beds and the twin size is very narrow and not super comfy. I would dread sleeping on one for a week! I think your 2 teenage sons are going to fight over who gets to sleep in the bed.

Also I wouldn't count on the flimsy travel bag to protect the bed. I would pack in another suitcase or else it may get punctured. Also the pumps are a bit delicate and you don't want it just being tossed around in a nylon tote.

I know you said your sons were tall but you really didn't say if the were wide (not trying to offend). They may just be better off sharing the queen size bed.

I think airbeds are fine for little kids but for a full size adult for an entire week I think it is not a great solution but if it is the only way you can stay on property at USO/IOA then go for it.

Walmart has all kinds of airbeds with el. pump for 19.99. We got a queen size one for camping.
