Roll Call! Who's going mid-September 2012?

Oh man, I am freakin' out a bit. I am hoping someone might be able to give me some info on how busy it will be during the week due to the Halloween Party on September 28, 2012. I made my plans for September because I didn't want to deal with super busy crowds and I didn't think about the Halloween Party going on. We won't actually be in the park on Friday (we leave to go home that day), but we will be there Tuesday-Thursday. Is that first party usually mostly local people??? Will crowds be just a bit more, but nothing like summer type thing? Any thoughts would be appreciated. I still can't wait to go, but hoping for still somewhat light crowds!! :cool1:

Here is what I am concerned about... ride closures. It sounds like BTMRR and Indy, HM and Space Mountain will all be down when we are there... that can't be right.. can it? Our dates are 9/17-9/23. I would be very disappointed if all four of those rides weren't operating during our stay.

Me too!!

Haven't been to DLR for many years and taking the kids back. We are very excited however after findings this post and others worried crowds may be worse than expected. Hopefully not to bad though. Thinking about changing to after Labor days. Any thoughts?

Also saw that some school districts in LA and orange county are out on the 26th. Will this make the crowds worse?

Any thoughts on the Mickey Halloween party? trying to decide if going opening night is worth the money or will it be to crowded.

Will be staying at HOJO. First time ever staying there. Any thoughts on the walk with my kids ages 5,6,9,11?

I can not see all of the rides being down at once, I do know Space Mountain and HM go down for a bit for the holiday overlay. They would never do all the big ones at the same time, that would piss to many people off.

I have heard people specualting that Indy and BTMRR will be down, I think it will be Indy if any just because it needs it. But still hoping not!

We are going at the end of Sept, and the crowd calender doesn't look to bad. Aside from the Carsland area, the rest probaly wont be to crowded.
We are trying to decide on the party as well. Its tough to pay out that much, but I know my kids will enjoy it. And with my AP I can get it cheaper, just something I need to decide.

Just made my reservations with the Blue Bayou for our trip!
Still haven't nailed down where we are staying yet, holding out hope that we can get cheaper rates at a Disney hotel either through the AP discounts or employee discount through my sis in law. Thinking if we stay off site we may try Embassy Suites, anyone have opinions on them? We usually stay at the Staybridge but the beds there killed my back on our last visit.

Okay I need some expert opinions, please!

I'm planning a weekend trip in September. Like I said earlier in this post, I don't care about Halloween decorations or ride closures, but I do want to avoid crowds as much as possible. (Doesn't everyone?!)

So I was originally planning on arriving around noon on Thursday, September 6th and staying until Sunday, September 9th. I figured I'd miss the Labor Day/marathon crowds, and also the people showing up for the debut of the Halloween decorations the next weekend.

Unfortunately several things came up recently that made the first weekend inconvenient, but not impossible. BUT just today a third thing popped up so now I'm like okay, this is a sign! It would just be easier if we went from the 13th through the 15th instead.

Question is, do you think the bump in the crowd levels will be noticeable? Will a lot of locals show up the night of the 14th for the decorations? I was planning on doing Fantasmic that night, but I was going to go with the dessert package anyways so maybe it won't be bad.

Thanks!

I think you'll be fine. We're going at the same time and I chose those dates after doing some research on crowd levels. I think the only thing that would throw a wrench into our plans is Cars Land....

Okay, thanks! I mean I know Touring Plans isn't always accurate, but for some reason I'm convinced they are. (Even after they LIED and said Saturday, May 5th was a 2. I was there and it most certainly was not! LOL) And if it was, I'm in for a really big shock this time around! Haha. My biggest days are Fri/Sat and the first weekend is a 4/5 and second is a 6/7 but I'm a rookie so I don't know how that will translate to actual crowds. Maybe I'll never even notice.

Hi,

I just cancelled our trip that I planned for the 2nd week of August. Turns out that my DS (who is starting at Cal in August) really didn't want to go to DL! :( I just can't believe it! He loves DL - but, I think he's more excited about going away to college...:thumbsup2

I was really disappointed...and feeling sad that we weren't going to DL...but, then, my DH, said "why don't we just take a trip with the two of us" - I LOVE my DH! :lovestruc

We will be celebrating our 25th anniversary this year at the end of August in Maui and then we will be in DL on September 22nd - 24th! YAY! :cool1:

Oh, and we are staying at GCH! :lovestruc

So excited! :cool1:

We'll be there too!!
Sept 1 thru the 6th at the Carousel Inn.
We're also running the races and have done it the past two years in a row!!
My only concern is that HM will be closed...this will be the 3rd time I miss it!!
I guess it's partly my fault for going during that time.
But just...maybe...I'll get lucky this year!!!! Please?:worship:

We'll be there Sept 22-29. Staying at the Homewood Suites. Going to the Halloween Party on the 28th. :cheer2:

Right now the dates I'm planning on are the 20-25th not sure where we're staying yet and how many people are in our group but those dates seem to work best.

I couldn't take waiting until next May to see Cars Land so we making a quickie trip after I have surgery and before I head back to work. Great reward to myself.:thumbsup2

As of now we're going Sept 4th - 6th at PP. I'd like to move to DLH or GC if we can get a good AP rate.

Count us in for Sunday, September 16 - Wednesday, September 19 at the GC. We're actually flying to Las Vegas, but my DW has to pay her respects to the Mouse whenever we're close to Anaheim. I know, Las Vegas is nowhere near Anaheim, and we would have to drive over 4 hours to get there from LV, but DW points out we will be less than six miles away when flying OVER DLR at 30,000 feet, claiming a little known wedding vow requiring me to take her to DLR whenever we're near. How can anyone argue with that?

We chose September 16 - 19 for the lower crowd level, slightly cooler weather, and for HM, SM, and ToT donning their Halloween makeovers by the 14th. Can't wait!

Yahoo! enjoy, you will leave just as I get there!

I would love to do one of those hotels as well but I cant swallow the $2400 difference!

Smart, I WISH I HAD PUT THAT IN MY VOWS~ :rotfl2: enjoy your stop over!

I was thinking about making a group on FB private of course so that we could all chat on there when you are around keep up to date about whats happening. Would anyone be into that? let me know

Yikes, have you checked out Annual Passes to get better rates?

We're only a short plane ride away so we can get by with a couple of nights for a quickie trip.

We get one Annual Pass to get the AP rates and other discounts. As of now it's $505 total for the two nights. The really good AP rates haven't been released yet so I'm sure the cost will be less by the time we go or we'll get to move to DLH or GC for no increase in cost.
